Kyoto Visiting the Sites of Hidden Legend and Devildom
Kyoto has many legends. I'd like to show you a couple of Shrines. Abeno Seimei, a yin-yang master, told pros and cons of official functions of Imperial Court. Wake-no-Kiyomaro was saved by wild boars, so the divine messenger of the Goo shrine is a boar. Near Gion area, there are some temples that have the boundary between life and afterlife. I'd like to show you those temples.

About Tour Guide Hideo Y.
Hello, I'm HIDEo YOSHIda. Please call me HIDEYOSHI, the same name as the famous shogun who built the Osaka Castle in 1585.
I was born in Kobe and worked in Osaka for nearly 40 years. I would like to introduce the Kansai region to you ,including Kobe, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, and Wakayama.
Kobe is one of the two largest ports in Japan, along with Yokohama. After the opening of the Port of Kobe in 1868, foreigners built their residences on the hillside of the Kitano-cho area, overlooking the ocean. Many of the foreign residences are now open to the public as museums, including the Weathercock House, with it's symbol weathercock on the triangle-shaped roof.
In Meriken Park, the red Port Tower (the city's landmark), creates a beautiful contrast against the white Kobe Marine Museum. The museum's design was inspired by the waves and sailing ships.
When you have a chance to visit Osaka, please join my tour. I'm sure you'll enjoy the interesting and historical, scenic spots. For example, Shin-Sekai is a downtown area with a strange mix of nostalgic atmosphere and contemporary energy. You can try local foods (kushikatsu, sushi, tempura) at a reasonable price. Billiken (a famous statue of the spirit of luck) will be waiting for you!!. Dotombori is a popular street with a lot of flashy signboards. Osaka is widely known as a "Kuidaore-no-machi", or literally "drinking and eating luxuriously to death." Osaka Castle was built by Toyotomi HIDEYOSHI in 1585. Oh, it's my residence, isn't it !
These days "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" area in USJ, or Universal Studios Japan, is also attracting more and more people.
I'll be looking forward to seeing you !!

“2 Days w/ Hideo: Naoshima and Hiroshima ”
We just finished two great days with Hideo. He met us at our hotel in Kyoto, and from then on the trip was seamless. I had wanted to visit the "art islands" but couldn't imagine navigating getting there myself for my husband and I. We only really had a day to spend on Naoshima bec we also wanted to visit Hiroshima. Hideo took us on the train, to another train (or 2?) to a ferry to the bus all the way to Naoshima. He had the time schedules all worked out and managed our tickets. After being largely on our own in Tokyo, Hakone and Kyoto, it was so nice not to have to think! Although I might have liked more time on Naoshima, our overall trip time didn't allow for it but Hideo made the most of our time by scheduling things, including lunch. He gave us some good info on the museums we visited. He helped us find dinner when we arrived in Hiroshima after a long day. Then, when we wanted to change our plans the next day in Hiroshima, Hideo was amenable, and woke up early the next day to change our tickets. Even though we wanted to shorten our plans and not visit Miyajima (which most people would want to do, and HIdeo had originally planned) he didn't make us feel badly for shortening the day, and reduced his fee accordingly. He was very informative about Hiroshima, had great maps (even tho he was with us, this helped orient us to the main sites and history of what happened there). He then went with us to Osaka and took us right to our hotel. Hideo was informative, helpful and a very sweet and organized guide. We never could have managed to get to Naoshima and Hiroshima (navigating all the transportation) and been so relaxed to just focus on the sites if it weren't for Hideo! Thank you Hideo for being our guide.

Thanks to the punctual operation by trains, ferry and bus, I could smoothly take you to the destinations. Of course I make it a rule to respond to guest's requests as much as possible. Atomic Bomb Dome and Itsukushima Shrine in Miyajima
Hiroshima has 2 World Heritage sites: the Atomic Bomb Dome and Itsukushima Shrine in Miyajima. Hiroshima is now internationally known as the first city destroyed by the atomic bomb ever used in human warfare. Within the Peace memorial Park at the epicenter of the explosion, you can find war memorial museum and the Atomic Bomb Dome. The shrine is also a brilliant vermilion hall and it creates a sharp contrast against the wooded hills in the background and the blue sky above.

One day bike tour to southern part of Kyoto, Uji and Fushimi
In this tour, we can visit all the must-see places in the southern part of Kyoto together. Fushimi, known for the Fushimi Inari Shrine with its thousand torii gates and sake breweries, and Uji, famous for its matcha and the Phoenix Hall, each hold a unique position in Kyoto. During this tour, I, who have lived in Uji for three years and now work in Fushimi, will share the charm of these two towns from a local's perspective, as we explore by bicycle.

Hear the Hidden Sounds of Demachiyanagi • Sound Walk
Kyoto rewards those who listen. From a classic shōtengai (covered shopping street) to sacred forest, we use professional microphones to capture everyday city textures and quiet shrine atmospheres. I’ll show you simple recording methods, then edit your sounds into a personal 'audio postcard' after the walk. Curious about pace, group size, or timing? Message me and we’ll shape it together.
