In the morning, we will be visiting Nara, the ancient capital city of Japan before Kyoto. In the late afternoon, we will move to Osaka, the vibrant center of Western Japan.

You can feel two different faces of Japan, old and new in one day. Experience ancient history during the day and enjoy vibrant commercial atomosphere of the urban life in the late afternoon / early evening.

At your hotel in Osaka (It is possible to start the tour from Kyoto or Nara as well.)

09:00 AM

In Nara, Todaiji Temple, Kasuga Taisha Shrine and Nara Park (We can also go up to February Hall or Nara Prefecture Office for the view of the city.).

I can also do all day tour in Nara

03:00 AM

In Osaka, Kuromon Fish Market, Doguya-suji Kitchen Utensil Street, Hozenji Alley and Dotombori (We can peek through the Street of Nerds and Pachinko Parlours if you wish).

Can add Osaka Castle, but might have to shorten our trip in Nara. I can also do all day tour in Osaka.

Ending Point

What to Expect

We will visit one major Buddhist Temple(Todaiji) and Shinto Shrine(Kasuga Taisha), so you can understand two different religions in Japan living in harmony for 1,500 years. You have a lot of time feeding deer, messengers of Kasuga Shrine in Nara Park. We can also visit Isuien Garden or Yoshigien Garden provided we have enough time.

In Osaka, we stroll around the labyrinth of shops and arcades filled with busy noise of people and pachinko parlours. You can nibble grilled scallops and octopus balls or dine at okonomiyaki or kobe beef restaurant with a nice glass of craft beer.

Inclusions & Exclusions

What‘s included

guide fee

What‘s not included

transportation fee (you and guide), lunch, entrance fee

The entrance fee of Todaiji Temple is ¥600 per person.

If you have a JR Pass, it is possible to use it from Osaka to Nara. But I would advise you we take Kintetsu Line from Namba Station especially if you are staying in the southern part of Osaka. It will cost ¥560, but much more convenient.

I will try to meet your needs and requirements as much as possible. Please let me know if you have special requests. I specialize in tours in Osaka, but I can also do day tours in Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, Hiroshima and Koyasan. I can do shopping tour and eating tour. I am very flexible with time and can also do tours at late in the evening.

It will at least require 8 hours to visit both Nara and Osaka. (I can do the tour in two separate days if you prefer.)

It will involve a lot of walking. Please let me know if that is a problem, so I can make other plans.

Excellent 1-day Customized Osaka Tour

Ichi was excellent, flexible, and sensitive to adapt to to our needs when we got too tired as we were still adapting jet lag. The Osaka history quick session he gave before the Osaka Castle was very helpful before touring the castle. The 1-day tour was well organized. He was very kind and patient in helping us finding what we were looking for. He also showed us around the local neighborhood (not in the original itinerary) we were staying and took the extra mile taking us to a new artisan bakery in the neighborhood when he heard that I would like to pick up some baked goods. Great recommendation! They were delicious!

Thanks very much for the wonderful review! I was also very happy when we were able to find the game he wanted! Hope you have a great time in Kyoto!

The Local Guide of Your Dreams!

Ichi is extremely knowledgeable as a guide and will go out of his way to make your trip memorable / enjoyable! His friendly personality will brighten your day and I can't thank him enough for providing such a positive experience for my travels - not to mention how generous he was at taking photos for us all throughout the tour! I appreciated how well he led, communicated and tailored he made the experience.

Toichi N.

Hello Jennifer, Thank you very much for writing kind comments of the tour. I had a great time with you and your friend, too! Hope the rest of your trip in Japan was as lovely as two days we had together in Osaka and in Nara. p.s. I went back to Goryo Jinja Shrine(Remember the shrine you took me on our last day together!?) a few times today as my clients were staying at a hotel just by the shrine.

The Best Guiding Experience You Could Ever Ask For

Ichi was an amazing guide - excellent English and extremely personable. I could not have imagined a better experience than the two days I had with Ichi. He is prompt and timely with responding to messages and is flexible with creating an itinerary that fits with your trip. I can't wait to cross paths with him again. The welcome I received from Ichi was amazing - he dropped off maps & a welcome note to my hotel prior to my arrival. He was happy to answer any questions about planning / transport and is just an absolute joy of a human being to be around. He recommended staying in the Namba area as it is central to transit / attractions and that was a great recommendation to follow! In Nara we visited temples, meandered through the deer park, a japanese garden, enjoyed a delicious lunch followed by sake tasting (upon Ichi's recommendation) and learnt origami / calligraphy all within the day! Ichi will teach you about the Japanese culture, language, history and ensure that your experience is enriching, educational and fun. In Osaka we visited the castle, Kuromon fish market and Dotonbori areas. Arigato gozaimasu Ichi!

Hello Jannifer, Thanks very much for overpraising my day with you! But we had an unusually nice day together, didn't we? The weather was not too bad even though it was raining; it was not crowded(Remember we had a whole garden for ourselves!); but more than anything else, you and your best friend were such loverly persons to be with! Thank you very much again for giving me a chance to guide you in Japan, and hope we can meet each other again in the near future(your honeymoon, maybe?)! p.s. Hope you would continue your calligraphy career.

Must have tour guide, the BEST!!!

Ichi was amazing. He knew all of the best parts of Nara and Osaka. He showed us secret locations for shrines and temples. He also surprised us with a sake tasting that was delicious! He has a great personality and we enjoyed our tour very much!

Toichi N.

Dear Generra, Thanks very much for your enthralling comments which I am not sure whether I deserve. I had a wonderful day meeting you and spending a great day with you. I wasn’t aware of all the surprises you prepared for your sister later on on the day, otherwise; I would have taken you back to the hotel earlier. Hope you will remember this anniversary holiday with fond memories in years to come! Bon voyage and exciting life to come! Kohun o inottemasu. Love, Ichi
