Yamanobe no Michi, "Old trail along the foot of the mountain" from Miwa shrine to Kasuga shrine, has been shown in the Kojiki," Records of Ancient Matters" the Japanese oldest history book ( beginning of 8 century ). The trip is a walking about the half of the trail between Tenri and Yanagimoto JR stations visiting historical spots including shrines and ancient tombs before 6 centuries

Meeting Point
At your hotel in Nara. You will take JR train from Nara station to Tenri station (about 30 minutes).
As the Tenri city is a center of new cult, Tenrikyou, tour will made a courtesy visit of their headquarter.
Visiting Isonokami shrine which is one of the oldest shrine in Japan. The shrine is deified a legendary Holy sword.
Visiting the old communities fortifying against the intruders.
Visiting ancient tombs including the ancestor of Japanese loyal family.
Enjoying trails passing through agriculture field including orchards of persimmon and local oranges.
Visiting Chogaku Temple established by visiting Kobodaishi.
Ending Point
At your Hotel in Nara. You will return to Nara city by JR train from Yanagimoto station..

I have worked in the multi-national organizations including UN agency for around 30 years and stationed at various cities including Rome, Bangkok and Hanoi. Although I have retired from those international carriers, I wish to keep the international cooperation and develop the friendship with people who visits our country. As I like history and am practicing Noh song and wood curving of Buddha images, I have decided to live in Nara where is surrounded by many historical places and traditional cultures, when I returned back to Japan in 2017. “7 Hours in Kyoto”
Yasu guided me and my wife around many historical sites in Kyoto. He was very knowledgeable and able to tell us about everything we saw. We really enjoyed every moment with him and were sad to say goodbye at the end of the day. I cannot recommend a tour with Yasu highly enough.

One day tour in Kyoto (Arashiyama area)
Tour will start from the Hotel in Kyoto. Frst visit is Kinkakuji temple (Golden Pavillion ),then, to Ryoanji tmple where is famous for rock garden. Tour will stop at Arasiyama area to take lunch and visit Togetsu bridge, Bamboo grove, Tentyuji temple and others. The last visit is NIjyo castle. As these places are normally crowded. using chartered taxi is highly recommended in order to effectively use your valuable time in Kyoto.

As Yagyu family was a leader of Yagyu Shinkage Ryu, one of the stile of Japanese swordsmanships, many samurais visited Yagu to learn the skill through the trail. Nara area used to be a Capital of Japan for 80 years (Heijyoukyou;A.D.708-810).After transferring the Capital to Kyoto, Nara was remained as a center of Buddhism. Although many temples remained such as Todaiji and Kohukuji, many other temples have been established but abolished in its long history, then only stone Buddha images are remained as an evident of the history.

Walk along the Japanese oldest road
Yamanobe-no-michi Road, the oldest road in Japan, runs through at the foot of eastern mountains of Nara Basin. In this area, huge burial mounds and oldest shrines blend well with quiet farming villages. This tour might take you back in time to the ancient mythical period. The road is mostly flat and comfortable to walk on.
