Rinnoji Temple
Feel the atmosphere of Buddhism!
Rinnoji was established by Saint Shodo in the middle of the 8th century. There are no buildings named Rinnnoji. All the buildings related to Buddhsm in Nikko are collectively called Rinnoji.
At Rinnoji, based on the belief to mountains, they have worshipped three Buddhas. Thousand-armed Kannon (Kannon with thousand arms) representing Mt. Nantai, Amida Buddha representing Mt. Nyohou, and Kannon with a horse’s head representing Mt. Taro.
Taiyuin is a mausoleum which is located inside the precincts of Rinnnoji Temple, and famous for its beautiful gates. It enshrines the Tokugawa third Shogun Iemitsu.
Toshogu Shrine
Enjoy watching the beautiful carvings of Yomeimon Gate, three wise monkeys, sleeping cat, etc.
This shrine was built in 1617 to worship Tokugawa Ieyasu who was the ruler of Japan at the beginning of the 17th century. After the death of Tokugawa Ieyasu he was buried in Mt. Kuno in Shizuoka Prefecture, but his body was moved to Nikko in the next year according to his will to become a god to rule Kanto area.
You can see the big entrance gate called Yomeimon which has more than 500 beautiful carvings. You can also see the famous carvings of three wise monkeys, sleeping cat, etc.
Futarasan Shrine
Feel the soul of Shintoism, Japanese indigenous religion.
Futarasan Shrine was established in the middle of the 8th century by Saint Shodo. It worships Mt. Futara, another name is Mt Nantai, and has been gathering people's faith. This shrine is famous for the benefit of good marriage and inviting good luck.
The beautiful Shinkyo Bridge, which is the entrance of Mt. Nikko, is a property of Futarasan Shrine.

I have been living in a city of Fujisawa, which is the city next to Kamakura, for more than 20 years, and also lived in Kamakura for more than 10 years. So far, I have visited almost all the temples and shrines in Kamakura. So I am sure I can offer you a pleasant trip to the historical city, Kamakura.
In addition to Kamakura, I can also guide Tokyo, Yokohama, Hakone, Nikko, etc. because I have visited many places in Kanto area. For example, in Tokyo I can show you around the sightseeing spots such as Asakusa, Tsukiji, Imperial Palace, Meiji Shrine, Tokyo Skytree, etc.

“Fantastic half day tour with Hiroshi”
We had the best day with Hiroshi as our guide! We booked a half day tour on our first full day in Tokyo and Hiroshi was amazing. He took us to all of the spots we wanted to go and even added a few things in based on the season (seeing the cherry blossoms at a park) and having the time to do so. Thank you for writing a review. I also had a great time with you. It was raining in Shibuya in the morning, but it had subsided by the time we arrived in Harajuku. It was raining lightly in Yoyogi Park, but we were able to see the beautiful cherry blossoms. I also explained how to pray at shrines and temples, and I was happy to see that you prayed in the correct way at Meiji Shrine, Tsukiji Honganji Temple, Sensoji Temple, and Asakusa Shrine. There are many tourist spots near Tokyo, such as Hakone with its beautiful scenery and Nikko, a World Heritage site. I hope to show you those places the next time you come to Japan. Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I really enjoyed the Tokyo tour with you and your family. We visited Asakusa, Imperial Palace, Harajuku, etc. Asakusa was crowded because it was the end of the year, but we were able to enjoy the atmosphere of Buddhism by drawing omikuji, breathing the smoke of incense at the incense burner, and purifying ourselves at the hand-washing basin. In Harajuku, we visited Meiji Shrine and Takeshita Street, where we were able to experience Shinto, a traditional Japanese religion, and youth culture. My family and I enjoyed the chocolates I received as souvenirs. They were so delicious. Also, a cap is indispensable in the hot Japanese summer. I will use it this summer. Best Memories of Nikko
I will take you to Tosho-Gu Shrine and Rinno-Ji Temple in Nikko. Tosho-Gu was built about 400 years ago to worship Ieyasu Tokugawa who started Edo Period. It has just renovated as it was in early Edo period where you can see many beautiful buildings with carvings of animals such as the three monkeys and the sleeping cat. Rinno-Ji was established in 766 and combined with Tosho-Gu until 150 years ago. We will use a express train to Nikko and a bus there.
Nikko walking tour (The world heritage site and hidden treasure spots)
Experience the most personalized guided tour in Nikko, where I will meet you at JR Utsunomiya station or Tobu Nikko station. We'll take the bus to Tamozawa Imperial Villa Memorial Park. I will show you around both inside and in the garden. After the lunch break, we will go to Kanmangafuchi Gorge. Then we will walk to Toshogu Shrine and spend one and a half hours there. We will visit Rinnoji's Sanbutsudo Hall. On returning to Nikko station, we will stop at the Shinkyo Bridge.
