Hi there!! I am an English speaking tour guide based in Utsunomiya city near Nikko. Since I came back from Auckland, New Zealand I started my own business as an English Speaking Guide. I have been a guide for 6 years. My favorite things to do these days are 1. visit historical places in Tochigi prefecture, 2. find nice restaurants and bars in Utsunomiya 3. wear hats while I am working outside.

“A full day itinerary ”
Jack was detailed and provided us with lots of fun facts of the places we visit. Nothing was set in stone and the plan changes according to our speed, break time, and weather. Jack tried to take us to Kegon Falls twice since the first time we went it was too foggy to see anything, so we came back in the afternoon to try to catch it, but sadly it got even foggier! Definitely would recommend Jack's tour to anyone that wanted a guided tour of Oku Nikko and Nikko Toshogu.

“Great Guide!”
Jack was very accommodating to our group with some more mobile than others. He shared local and historical knowledge that made all we saw much more meaningful. I contacted him after the tour as I left my hat in the lunch restaurant. He graciously and quickly mailed my hat back to me. I am very grateful! どうもありがとうございます

Debra, Thank you for your review. It's OK with me to send your cap without payment this time. If someone plans to travel to Nikko, why don't you ask them about my tour? Best, Jack

“Great Guide for Utsunomiya and Nikko”
Jack was kind enough to let me book his Nikko tour but customize the itinerary based on my schedule and interests. He drove me around some scenic parts of Utsunomiya before taking me all around Lake Chuzenji in Nikko and showing me all the great waterfalls and some nice walking trails. We also had a nice lunch together and talked about all sorts of topics when he wasn’t teaching me the history of Nikko. At the end he was able to drop me off at my hotel in Nikko as well. He also speaks perfect English so I would easily recommend Jack for any tour in Tochigi!

Thank you for your comment. I had a great time spending time with you on Tuesday. The restaurant where we had lunch is called Chez Hoshino, which I had never been to. Your long journey makes you a valuable asset. By the way, how did you enjoy staying at the best hotel in Nikko? I will stay there one day. Good luck with the rest of your trip. Jack
