Meeting Point to Mount Koya
We take the train from Osaka and arrive to Mount Koya, with the cable car. We can see all the region from the train, from the big city to the nature in the countryside, then climb the mountain with the cable car.
Daimon Gate
Entrance Gate to Mount Koya and the Spirit World.
Danjo Garan
Shingon Buddhist Sect Main Worship place since the 9th century.
Kongobuji
Temple founded at the end of the 16th century by the military dictator, Hideyoshi Toyotomi. Now, it serves as the Shingon headquarters.
Lunch
We go to a restaurant of the area where we can have a taste of the famous Shojin Ryori cuisine, vegetarian cuisine originally given to the monks of Mount Koya.
Oku no In
Famous and biggest Japanese cemetery, with 200,000 tombs of more or less famous families. At its end, helds the mausoleum of Kobo Daishi.
Okunoin-mae Bus top
We arrive to this bus top and we head back to Osaka.
Mount Koya to Koyasan Station
We finish to visit Mount Koya at around 16:00. It is time for us to go down from the mountain by cable car. The tour finishes at Gokurakubashi Station, down to Mount Koya.

The Mount Koya is house of Shingon Buddhist Sect. All the town is covered by Shingon temples we can visit. Oku no in cemetery is famous all around the World. We will visit it to pay respect to Kobo-Daishi, founder of the Buddhist Shingon School, and to 200,000 Japanese families. We will also know more about Japanese History.

Osaka does have a rich history and monuments from the 3rd Century and before (available to see in other tours), however the tour you booked is focused on the modern side of the city for 4 hours. We also visited Tsuyunoten Jinja, which dates from the 9th century. I hope you enjoyed Osaka during your trip.
