Spend half a day with me in Omiya, Saitama, a great day trip from Tokyo, around 35 minutes from Tokyo station or Shinjuku station.
We will first visit Hikawa shrine - an important shrine in Omiya, and then we’ll head over to the Railway museum where you can enjoy numerous exhibits and interactive experiences.

Omiya station

Hikawa Shrine
We will walk around 20 minutes to reach Hikawa Shrine.
Omiya Railway Museum
We will then walk around 20 minutes to reach the Railway Museum.
We can look around the exhibits and if you’d like extra time, you are welcome to stay there for as long as you like.

I will welcome you to Saitama prefecture, just North of Tokyo and a perfect day trip! We will start in Omiya just over 30 minutes from Tokyo station, and visit Hikawa shrine- one of the major shrines of Saitama. Then we will take the train to Kawagoe- Saitama’s old town.
