I will welcome you to Saitama prefecture, just North of Tokyo and a perfect day trip!

We will start in Omiya just over 30 minutes from Tokyo station, and visit Hikawa shrine- one of the major shrines of Saitama.

Then we will take the train to Kawagoe- Saitama’s old town.

Meeting Point

Omiya Station

Hikawa Shrine

We will walk around 20 minutes from the station to stroll around this beautiful shrine complex

10:30 AM

Omiya Station

We will return to the station to board the train to Kawagoe.

11:20 AM

Kawagoe station

We will ride the train for around 25 minutes and arrive at Kawagoe station.

12:00 PM

Kawagoe Koedo

Koedo means small ‘Edo’ and we will enjoy walking around the old streets. We will pass through Kumano shrine popular for praying for good relationships. You may choose to take a fortune here.

(Optional) If you would like to eat lunch in Kawagoe-please send me a message to arrange this. Kawagoe is famous for Eel and there are many restaurants in the area.

Kawagoe holds a famous festival every year and you are invited to the museum to learn the history and view the festival floats.

Enjoy the retro atmosphere of the candy shops and try some of Kawagoe’s famous sweet potato treats.
