Must see places in Tokyo
This tour covers major sightseeing spots, Tsukiji outer-Market, Hamarikyu traditional garden, and Asakusa in 5 hours. The outer market has many retail shops and sushi restaurants, so you can still enjoy the bustling market street. After feeling the energy of the market, we move to a beautiful traditional garden, Hamarikyu. It was once a palace and garden of Tokugawa shoguns. From the garden, we ride on a water bus that runs to Asakusa. Please enjoy a one-hour Sumida river cruise to Asakusa.

“ A special introduction to Tokyo.”
A lovely two days guiding us around some of Tokyo’s treasures. The highlight was being at the Shinto fire ceremony as well as a special sushi lunch at the fish market .

Dear Elizabeth and David, Thank you for taking the time to write such a nice review. I'm glad to know you enjoyed two days in Tokyo with me. Yes, the fire ceremony in Fukagawa-fudoson is special. Getting a fire ceremony on your belongings seemed to work, and you drove a car safely. But what made me really happy was the time we finally met together this year. Take care, Michiko

“Tokyo in one day!”
Myself and a friend had a fantastic day with Michiko from start to finish. She was able to answer all questions we had, she is a real fountain of Japanese knowledge. We wanted to do less touristy things and Michiko organized a beautiful lunch and took us to many spots that we would never have found on our own. Navigating Tokyo is a very daunting experience but having Michiko for the day was a great move as we managed to see a lot within our time!

Dear Glenn and Emmy, Thank you for taking the time to write such a nice review. I tried to accommodate your requests and created a somewhat tight schedule. I'm happy that we were able to visit all of them and knew you were satisfied with my tour. I also enjoyed our lunch at the charming restaurant founded by a kabuki actor. Please enjoy the rest of the days in Japan! I hope you will come back to Japan again and contact me. I am sure you will discover something new. Take care, Michiko

“Yokohama city”
Our 2nd day with Michiko was wonderful too. We were able to see sights that we wouldn't have seen otherwise if we'd planned to do it ourselves. Just took all the stress out of it when someone knows the place so well and how to get around best. The Sankeien garden was beautiful and the view from the Land Mark tower amazing. Thank you Michiko, so grateful for our 2 day tour with you.

Dear Katie and Murray, Thank you for sending two reviews for each day. It's been a long time since I brought guests to Yokohama, even though I used to live there. So, I enjoyed it as much as you did. I hope you enjoy the cruise over Japan and Jeju Island! Michiko

I’m so excited to have a chance to show you around my favorite spots in Kanagawa prefecture. I was born in Kanagawa. I spent my whole school life, including university, here in Kanagawa. I worked as a high school English teacher here for more than 40 years. I love Kanagawa so much. We have many interesting tourist spots, like Hakone, Kamakura, Enoshima and Yokohama. I got my tour guide license in English in 2009. I am still an English teacher. To give an interesting and impressive lesson to young high school students, I’ve learnt and gathered many kinds of information. I also have a license to teach social studies, so I have a wide range of knowledge about Japanese culture and history. I’m sure to provide you an interesting tour.

Grant A.
Hello! My name is Grant, and I’ve spent over a decade living and exploring Japan. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, I first came to Japan as a high school exchange student in Inuyama, a historic castle town in Aichi. My love for Japan began early—sparked by childhood games like Pokémon that were released in Japanese before English. That early curiosity grew into a lifelong passion for Japanese language, culture, and history. I hold an N2 on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, a degree in Asian Studies from a Tokyo university, and I graduated from the Japan Visual Media Translation Academy. I’ve visited all 47 prefectures and explored a wide range of historical sites, shrines, and castles throughout the country. My background in Japanese history helps me provide context that brings depth and meaning to the places we visit—whether it's understanding a centuries-old temple in Kyoto, the story behind a castle ruin, or uncovering the historical layers of a Tokyo neighborhood. If you’re planning to explore Tokyo, here are some tour options to consider: One day in Tokyo? The Ginza Line Tour offers a great introduction to the city’s highlights. Two days? Pair the East Tokyo Tour and West Tokyo Tour to get a well-rounded experience. Interested in anime? The Anime Tour is flexible and can be tailored to match your specific interests. For those looking to go beyond the city, I also offer day trips to Nikko, Kamakura, and other nearby destinations. While most guests book Tokyo-based tours, I also guide in other regions—especially Kyoto, where I’ve visited every World Heritage Site. I regularly lead tours in Osaka, Nara, Nagoya, Hikone, and other locations easily reached by rail. Multi-day and custom tours are available on request. Full-Day Tour: 40,000 yen (8 hours) Full-Day Tour Outside of Tokyo: 40,000 yen + transportation Feel free to get in touch to plan a tour that fits your interests and travel plans.
