Hello everyone! Welcome to Sapporo! I’ll be your tour guide this time:) I’m very happy to show you around this wonderful city. Sapporo is the largest city in Hokkaido, the northern island of Japan. It’s famous for its beautiful seasons, delicious food like ramen and fresh seafood, and events such as the Sapporo Snow Festival. The city is also known for its wide streets, parks, and relaxed atmosphere compared with other big cities in Japan. During our tour, I’ll introduce you to some of Sapporo’s most popular spots, local culture, and of course some great places to eat! If you have any questions at any time, please feel free to ask me. I hope you enjoy your time in Sapporo. Let’s have a great tour together!

I am an American male bi-lingual (English & Japanese)tour guide based/living in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. I have lived here several decades and I very familiar with the best places to see in Sapporo and outside of Sapporo/ other areas of Hokkaido. I can take you to the standard/well known sightseeing spots as well as "off the beaten path spots" that many overseas guests are unaware of. My tours are fun, on schedule, informative and transportation-wise very timely and smooth. Less time commuting and more time at location enjoying each point of interest. I have many years experience guiding tours in Sapporo and out to other areas of Hokkaido as well. Most of my tours are 1 day tours usually starting at 8 or 9a.m. and concluding at 6p.m. I basically use public transportation(buses, JR trains, and subways). I do own my own personal car and for guided tours with only 1 guest or small groups 2-3 guests, my private car is available for use. Meet up locations is usually at Sapporo Station in the morning but I can arrrange to meet you in the lobby of your hotel if requested. I look forward to guiding you here in Sapporo and throughout Hokkaido. Tour guide Scott. Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.

Hokkaido Tour Reviews

“A Day out in Nature”
Reiko was waiting for us at the ship pier with a warm smile on a glorious sunny morning. She took us in her car to the Crane reserve where we saw these beautiful birds and on to a walk through the wetlands where we encountered several deer - but luckily no bears! Shel described the creation of the wetlands and told us about the wildlife, including bears which we didn't know inhabited this region. She then took us to the Kushiro fish market and helped us make a sashimi rice bowl, selecting from the wide variety of fish and seafood on offer. Delicious! When the vending machine did not have any non-sugar beverages she kindly went to a nearby store to get us Coke Zero. We ended our day with another view of the wetlands and the river. Reiko was delightful to be with, conversation flowed easily.. And she surprised us with a gift of beautiful origami cranes and stunning earrings of cranes that she had crafted herself. They will be a treasured memory of Kushiro and Reiko.

“Fantastic tour”
We had a wonderful time on our tour. We were able to custom make a tour to see the things we wanted and the guide was so lovely and knowledgeable. Definite highlights were seeing the Tancho in 2 places and also the long tailed twits. Highly recommended.
