“Our tour of Kochi with Hideo Y ”

Hideo Y met us at the boat terminal at agreed time, we had an amazing day. Temples, Castles beautiful lunch, local scenery. Hideo Y is very knowledgeable we enjoyed asking questions and in return Hideo Y is easy to understand. I definitely would tour with Hideo Y again.

I'm very gald to receive your excellent review, You are very energetic to climb up the stone steps and reach the top of the Castle. Japanese castle is completely different from European castle. We could see the beautiful 5-storied pagoda at Chikurinji Temple. I wish you two all the best in the future.

“Unexpected Highlight of Our Recent Japan Cruise”

Our recent Japan cruise had a lot of big notable port stops like Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima. It is an unexpected pleasure to say that Kochi (which is a smaller, more peaceful port stop) was one of our favorite stops, in no small part due to our terrific tour guide Hideo. Even though we had already stopped at previous ports at so many shrines and temples, it was Hideo who taught us the most about Buddhism and how Japanese people today often combine elements of the Shinto and Buddhist religions. On our trip with Hideo, we visited Kochi Castle, Katsurahama Beach and Chikurinji Temple. This last stop was one of my top 2 stops in all of Japan - it was the most serene and beautiful temples I’ve ever seen and there were only a handful of other tourists, making our time more meditative and memorable. Hideo also actioned one of my last minute requests to have a sake tasting by arranging a visit to the Takagi Sake Brewery. What a great day!

I'm very glad to receive your excellent review. Kochi Castle is completely different from foreign castles. At Chikurinji Temple we could see one of the most beautiful 5-story pagodas in Japan. Lastly we visited Sake brewery to enjoy 5 kinds of sake tasting and getting sake bottles. I'm sure you enjoy Japanese sake. I wish you and your family all the best.

Thank you for joining my Kochi tour. Kochi castle is one of the 12 castles that were built during Samurai Period (until 1867) and still remained standing. It is completely different from European castles. And one fishing line and a hook of bonito is very popular in Koch, so we enjoyed having rice with bonito for lunch. I wish you every success for your time in Japan.
