Naoto O.
Hello, my name is Naoto, a local guide based in Mie, Japan. I am a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter (2026), offering private tours that go beyond typical sightseeing. My goal is to help you experience Japan, not just visit it. Before becoming a licensed guide, I completed an official tourism training program organized by the Mie Prefectural Government (2025). Through this program, I developed a strong foundation in Japanese history and culture, as well as practical skills in guiding and tour planning. ■Background and Language Skills I studied in Kyoto and also lived in Canada and New Zealand. I hold EIKEN Grade 1 and a TOEIC score of 925. My academic background is in law and international relations, so I am comfortable discussing both Japanese culture and global topics. ■Specialized Areas: Hidden Japan Experiences I specialize in guiding visitors to less-crowded, culturally rich destinations such as the Iga region, the birthplace of ninja, and the quiet historical areas of eastern Nara Prefecture. These locations offer a deeper and more authentic understanding of Japan. I can also guide you to Ise Grand Shrine, one of the most sacred and important sites in Japan. ■Comfortable Private Tours Since public transportation is limited in these rural areas, tours are conducted by private car to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience. ■Local Food Experience If you are interested, I can introduce you to local restaurants where you can enjoy fresh, organic vegetables from this region. I look forward to creating a personalized and memorable experience for you. Feel free to message me anytime to customize your tour.

Ondrej R.
Dear Travellers! My name is Ondrej and I have been living in Kyoto for six years. I’m currently conducting tours in English and Czech languages. My hometown is Prague, Czech Republic, but I have left it behind years ago to live in Japan forever. In my young years, I did a wide portfolio of various sports including soccer, futsal, skateboarding, cycling, boxing and athletics (both competition/ hobby level), so I can say that I am a sportsman. However, I reached my biggest successes at chessboard - playing the highest youth chess league of my country and finally attaining a chess coach licence. At the academic level, I studied Human Sciences combined with Natural Sciences at University. My primary goal is to satisfy your needs in a new city as for what you’d like to see. Based on a given venue, I focus on incorporating its meaning into a complete/ bigger picture of the whole culture and historical system. If you’re not sure, I’m always happy to build a convenient tour plan involving appropriate amount of walking and transfers. I have been raising my children in Kyoto for six years and realizing that traveling with children may sometimes be a challenge, I invite tours with children as well. I have experience working with and guiding people from all over the world. Kyoto is a precious Japanese artifact and it is filled with unique places and cultural values and heritages. Osaka offers a wide array of cultural meanings and cuisine delicacies, as well as hidden corners and pleasurable views. I also love to take my clients to cities of Nara and Uji as they are so important for understanding the core of Japanese soul. Please contact me to book, customize or just inquire regarding tours. Once you are ready, we can discuss which of yours or mines favorite places we visit. Until then, have a good day and travel safe wherever you go.

Shawn D.
My name is Shawn. I am American and I have been living in Japan for the last 15 years. What started as a chapter became a life, and Japan has shaped who I am in ways I am still discovering. I guide exclusively in English. After 15 years as a foreigner navigating this country, I understand what genuinely moves Western visitors, what surprises them, and most importantly, the difference between a quality experience and a tourist trap. I will always steer you toward the real thing. I am based in Kobe, a city that most tourists fly straight past on their way to Osaka and Kyoto. That is their loss and your opportunity. Kobe is a relaxed, walkable port city with a character unlike anywhere else in Japan. Yes, the Kobe beef is world class. But Kobe is also one of the most historically rich and visually beautiful cities in the country, without the overwhelming crowds you will find elsewhere. I know this city and this region deeply. From Kobe, Kyoto and Osaka are both reachable in well under an hour by train. That puts you at the center of the best region in Japan without the noise and chaos of staying in a major tourist hub. I cover the full Kansai region and beyond, from famous landmarks and cultural sites to the strictly local places most visitors never find. I am also available for early morning and late evening tours. Some of the most memorable experiences in Japan happen when the crowds are gone. Every tour is planned around you. Tell me what matters and I will build the day around it. Come find out what Japan means to you. Shawn

Nicolas I.
Hello, my name is Nicolas. I’m originally from Argentina and have been living in Japan for the past eight years, proudly calling Osaka my home. Being married to a Japanese wife has given me a strong personal connection to the culture and a deeper understanding of everyday life here, far beyond what most visitors get to see. Tourism has always been my passion and profession, and I have spent these years working in the tour industry, helping travelers discover Japan in a meaningful and enjoyable way. I love sharing not only the famous landmarks, but also the small details, stories, and local experiences that make this country so special. My goal is to make every tour feel relaxed, authentic, and memorable—like exploring Japan with a knowledgeable friend who truly loves living here. I look forward to welcoming you and showing you this amazing place I now call home.

Seiya S.
Hello, my name is Seiya, a local tour guide in the Kansai region. I was born and raised in Osaka. Growing up in Osaka made me understand its culture, mindset, and people. I also often travel overseas myself(Recent favourite is India!) and interact with local people, making me understand non-Japanese people's perspective on this country. I am particularly interested in Japanese history, religion, and traditional culture. During my time living in Kyoto, I developed a strong curiosity about temples, shrines, and the ideas behind them, and I enjoy sharing these insights in a clear and easy-to-understand way. I welcome questions and conversations, and I am happy to adjust the tour based on your interests and pace. I am also a photographer, soI would be happy to photograph you with my beloved 35mm film camera. Film photo has a nostalgic warmth, creating timeless photos that stay close to your heart! Looking forward to seeing you soon! I am not available from April to October. Thank you for your understanding.
Nara Tour Reviews

“A perfectly balanced and memorable day in Nara”
We were two couples, and we had a wonderful day in Nara with Michiko. She met us at our hotel in Kyoto, and from the beginning everything felt smooth, well organized, and easy. Even getting to Nara was part of the experience, as we combined the metro and a local bus, which made the day feel even more authentic and interesting. We started with a walk through Nara Park, where the many freely roaming deer are a special attraction in themselves. We also visited Kasuga Taisha Shrine and were lucky enough to witness a traditional wedding there, which made the visit even more special. After that, we visited the impressive Todai-ji Temple, entering through the famous gate with the two giant guardian statues. The temple was absolutely beautiful, and with the cherry blossoms in bloom, the whole setting felt unforgettable. Michiko also took us to an excellent local restaurant, where we sat on tatami mats around a low table and enjoyed a full table of delicious food. Later, we walked through the old part of town, visited a traditional Japanese house, and stopped at a small craft brewery, which was a fun and unique experience. What we appreciated most was how well Michiko guided the whole day. She was very organized, well prepared, and shared a lot of interesting knowledge and context throughout the day. She was respectful, always happy to explain anything we asked, and kept a very good walking pace, which suited us perfectly. At the same time, she always kept a careful eye on the group, helping us move smoothly through the crowds and see as much as possible. She also had a very good energy and was always ready to help, including taking photos for us. We had a fantastic time with her and would happily recommend her to anyone visiting Nara or Kyoto.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I was truly happy to explore Nara with all of you on that beautiful spring day when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. You kindly shared your requests and interests before the tour, which was really helpful. Thanks to that, we were able to experience the many charms of Nara—both past and present—by visiting magnificent temples and shrines in the morning and exploring the local town in the afternoon. I’m also glad you enjoyed the taste of the salted cherry blossom leaves—you bought sakura mochi as souvenirs. How did they taste? Even after cherry blossom season ends, every time I eat sakura mochi, I’ll think of you, Domen and everyone. Please come back to Japan again and enjoy the diverse local cultures!

“Highly Recommended!!!”
Highly recommend taking a tour to see Nara Park with Miyu. The whole experience can be very overwhelming. First there is the overall size of the park (1600 acres), numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites, and wild, bowing deer everywhere. For this reason, my family booked a private tour with Miyu. Miyu had everything planned out and guided us around the park. Never once did we have to pull out our phones to try to use Google Maps/Translate. Miyu expertly led us to see the temples and shrines - handling admission and leading us to see the best spots and must-see items at each location. She helped me with buying a Goshuincho and obtaining my first Goshuins. Miyu also helped my children with their Omikujis. For me the highlight was seeing and feeding the deer (although some can be quite aggressive). Miyu explained the process of feeding the deer and gave us tips to avoid being harassed by the deer. We were finished and leaving for lunch just as the park was beginning to become really crowded. Overall, we were very happy to have Miyu as our guide and were very satisfied with her tour of Nara Park.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It makes me truly happy to hear that your family had a great time in Nara. I’m glad I could help you navigate the park so you could focus on making memories together without worrying about maps or translations. Feeding the deer and getting your first Goshuin are such special experiences, and I’m honored I could be a part of them. Please let me know when you're back in Japan—I’d love to guide you and your family again!

“A wonderful experience with Yasu — highly recommend!”
While staying in Nara, we arranged two customized tours through Go with Guide, and our guide Yasu exceeded all expectations. He is knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely passionate about sharing Japanese history, culture, and customs — we learned so much from him throughout both days. Our first tour took us to Kyoto, which was bustling with tourists in April. Yasu struck a great balance, taking us to a couple of the iconic shrines and temples before steering us toward quieter, lesser-known spots away from the crowds. He also recommended a wonderful boiled tofu lunch in a peaceful corner of the city — a true local highlight. For our second day, Yasu crafted a fantastic itinerary centered around the Asuka area, which we explored comfortably in his car. In the morning we visited Hasedera Temple and Tanzan Shrine, both nestled in the mountains and a little off the beaten path — they were an absolute joy to visit. We also stopped at Asukadera Temple, home to Japan's oldest Buddha, and explored some fascinating prehistoric rock sites whose history remains a mystery even to scholars. Lunch was another special treat: sōmen, a local specialty of delicate, thin white noodles served chilled with a savory dipping sauce and fresh toppings. A perfect and memorable meal. On the way back to Nara, Yasu took us to Mahoroba Kitchen, a wonderful local produce market — a great find we never would have discovered on our own. He also went out of his way to stop at a Don Quijote store outside of town so we could pick up an extra duffel bag for our growing collection of souvenirs. That kind of thoughtfulness really set him apart. We couldn't have asked for a better guide. Yasu's expertise, creativity, and genuine care for his guests made both days truly unforgettable. Highly recommended!
