Frequently Asked Questions
Booking & Account
How does booking an airport transfer work on GoWithGuide? Is it different from booking a private tour?
The flow is identical to any other GoWithGuide booking: search → choose your car → enter details → pay online. No extra log-ins, no redirection to third-party sites. Your transfer will appear in GWG along any tours you have booked.
Simply use the search box to find the perfect transfer service for you, then follow the on-screen instructions to make the online booking.
Will my airport-transfer booking appear in my Bookings list and confirmation emails, just like my tour reservations?
Yes. Every confirmed transfer is listed in your Bookings list, and you’ll receive a confirmation email that includes pick-up instructions and 24/7 support contact details.
Price & Payment
Is the fare all-inclusive or will I pay extra on the day?
The checkout total already includes the vehicle, driver meet-&-greet, taxes, tolls, and standard waiting time—so there are no hidden fees for the base ride.
How do I make a payment?
If you do not have an account with us, before making a payment you will be prompted to create an account. If you already have an account with us but not logged in, you will be prompted to log in before you make a purchase. Once you are signed up or logged in, you will be able to make a payment. You can pay either by credit/debit card or PayPal.
Is my payment secure?
Yes, your payment is secure. You can pay for airport transfers using either credit/debit card or PayPal through GoWithGuide’s SSL-protected checkout. We comply with PCI-DSS standards, so your payment information is encrypted end-to-end and never stored on our servers.
Policies & Refunds
What’s the cancellation window, and when will I get my refund?
Each local provider sets its own free-cancellation deadline, typically 24 hours before pick-up. The exact cut-off is displayed at checkout and again on your Booking Details page. Cancel within that window and we automatically refund the full fare to your original card, usually within 5-10 business days (bank processing times may vary).
What happens if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
Enter your flight number when booking and your driver will track it in real time. If there’s a delay but it's still within the free waiting period (see below), no action is needed. For longer delays or cancellations, contact the 24/7 support number in your Booking Details page (can also find it in the confirmation email); we’ll reschedule or refund according to the supplier’s policy.
Driver & Vehicle
Are drivers licensed and insured, and will they speak English?
Yes. All drivers hold professional licences, carry commercial insurance and have passed background checks. Most airport-route drivers speak English; if you need another language, add it in Special Instructions and we’ll confirm availability before pick-up.
Which vehicle types can I book, and how do I know they’ll fit my group and luggage?
Search results list the main categories—economy sedans, business sedans, minivans, minibuses, and premium cars—along with the passenger and suitcase capacity for each. Pick the class that matches your head-count and bags, and you’re set. All vehicles are non-smoking and air-conditioned.
Can I request a vehicle with a child seat or child booster?
Yes, you can. When you search, you'll see whether a car offers a child seat or child booster, and whether it's included or optional.
If it's optional, you’ll have the option to add it on the checkout page.
Where is this transfer service available?
Our partner network spans 3,500+ airports across 180 countries. If an airport shows up in the search bar, you can book a ride there, no need to cross-check elsewhere.
Meet-&-Greet Logistics
Where will the driver meet me, and how will I recognise them?
For airport pick-ups the driver waits in the arrivals hall after customs, holding a sign with your name. The Booking Details page also includes 24/7 support contact details for real-time updates.
How long is the free waiting time, and what if I need more?
Free waiting time varies by car and local provider. You'll see the exact wait time listed on each car option and on the checkout page. If you need extra time, please contact the 24/7 support team listed in your confirmation email.
What should I do if I can’t find my driver?
Check the meeting-point instructions in your Booking Details page, then call or text the driver using the contact details provided. Still stuck? Tap the 24/7 support link or phone the support number in your confirmation email and we’ll assist immediately.
How early should I schedule pickup for my return to the airport?
We recommend setting your hotel/airbnb pickup at least 2 hours before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international flight, allowing for traffic. Your search results display an estimated travel time to help you choose.
Support & Contact
Is there 24/7 help if plans change at the last minute?
Yes. The Booking Details page lists round-the-clock phone and live-chat channels to support you. Reach out any time for rescheduling, driver queries or emergency assistance.

Niigata City One Day Walking Tour
Niigata City is famous for its delicious rice, agricultural products, and fresh fish. This is thanks to the abundance of water that has made it a "city of water.” At the same time, however, people have suffered from floods since the beginning of history and have repeatedly overcome them. In addition, Niigata City today is home to some of the best people in the world of comics and modern dance. Come and taste the breeze of a town with such a unique history and character.

Mutsuko W.
Yokoso! Welcome! Hi, I'm Mutsuko, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter. A true Niigatite, I was born and raised in Niigata City with roots dating back generations. I would be pleased to show you another side of Japan in my beautiful and unique prefecture. The Warm Hospitality: Niigata Prefecture is located on the west coast of the Japanese Archipelago, facing the Sea of Japan and provides a true insider look into the Japanese spirit. Only two hours away from Tokyo by Shinkansen, it has been perfecting the art of casual hospitality through centuries as a culinary hotspot and nature getaway for the those escaping the rat-race. History at your own Pace: Appreciate history and culture at your own pace in Niigata. Yahiko, National Shrine has been soothing souls, and inspiring locals, poets, and travellers for over 2500 years. Historically significant buildings greet seafarers at Niigata Port and the old town area, Furumachi. Cross the symbolic Bandai Bridge to the other side of the Shinano River where we can move from the ancient to the modern in the Bandai area to shop and gather with young and old for entertainment such as movies, music, manga, and anime. Over the Sea, Over the Mountain, Over the Fields: Nature is good to Niigata Prefecture, giving us four clear-cut seasons. People from all over the country, and travellers wanting to experience Japan with the Japanese join us to soak in the sun on our beaches, relax at spa resorts, challenge themselves on world class ski hills, and dance together at festivals that draw world class performers. Travel with Me: With direct trains to and from Tokyo and an international airport, Niigata is just a stone's throw away to have a unique taste of Japan. Whether you're planning a day trip or a longer stay, I invite you to visit Niigata City and other parts of the prefecture, and while here, it would be my pleasure to help you create unique memories during your stay.

Keiichi S.
Hello! My name is Keiichi. Please call me Kei. I was born and raised in Joetsu City, located in the southern part of Niigata prefecture. Joetsu was the former capital city of Echigo Province until the mid 19th century. It has a lot of historic sites and scenic spots, and most of all good people. I love my city very much. I worked for the Joetsu City office for over thirty years. During my time there, I was in charge of international relations for about ten years. After retiring from the office, I began working as a licensed tour guide. I am very excited to introduce my city to people all over the world.
