I am Fumie Ueda, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter in Atami, Shizuoka, only 50 minutes away from Tokyo by Shinkansen trains. Atami is conveniently located at the foot of the Hakone mountains, and the base of the Izu Peninsula. It is also close to Mt. Fuji and the Shimizu Port in Shizuoka. I am excited to show you around beautiful places that I love. I grew up in Yokohama, spent 1 year as a high school exchange student in Allentown, PA in the US, went to college and lived/worked in Tokyo for about 10 years before coming to this beautiful onsen resort. After becoming a guide, I met with guests from various backgrounds, and I feel grateful once again, for my experience to be exposed to different cultures in my youth. Let’s have a good time together!

Welcome to Shizuoka in the central area of Japan. I was born in Hakone, Kanagawa Pref. and grew up in Izu Peninsula, also studied English at Kanagawa University in Yokohama. After graduation, I have traveled to a lot of countries such as Europe, U, S., Asia and lived in Australia for a year. I had a great time to visit there to have a wonderful experience. So I decided to become a licensed tour guide for introducing Japan to foreign tourists. Now I live in Izu which is close to Mt.Fuji and Hakone. I'm interested in Arts, Hot Springs, traditional places and of course delicious food. “Perfect views of Mt Fuji”
We were lucky to have a very sunny and clear day for our Mt. Fuji tour. Moto is a great guide. Very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. He met us at the Shimizu port and took us to great viewing sites of Mt Fuji. He even took us to a local park with no tourists and the view was breathtaking. The falls were beautiful and he took us for lunch at a small local Japanese restaurant where the hostess was very gracious and the food good. It was an incredible and very enjoyable day with Moto as our guide. We highly recommend Moto and his Mt Fuji tour.

“Wonderful and Knowledgeable”
Moto was very good at covering everything we wished on our agenda. He was both driver and guide. He was very careful of our safety. Moto had a high degree of knowledge and clear in advance of how to meet at the cruise terminal etc. No complaints, and would recommend.
