Dazaifu Temmangu Shrine
Dazaifu Tenmangu is a significant Shinto shrine in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, a scholar and politician from the Heian Period, revered as the god of learning and culture. Established in 905 AD, the shrine was built to appease Michizane's spirit after his unjust exile and subsequent deification. The shrine offers a rich blend of history, nature, and traditional Japanese culture.

Kushida Shrine is a prominent Shinto shrine located in Fukuoka City, Japan. Founded in 757, it is one of the oldest shrines in the region and is dedicated to the deities Amaterasu and Susanoo. The shrine is best known for hosting the annual Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage event, featuring elaborate floats and vibrant parades. Visitors are drawn to its historical significance, traditional architecture, and the ancient gingko tree said to be over 1,000 years old. “Nice day outside of Fukuoka”
We had a nice day with Katsu. He was very detail oriented. We told him we wanted to see the pokemon manhole covers and he took us to all three right at the beginning. Then we enjoyed the shrine and historical sights. He arranged for us a very good lunch where we enjoyed steak and eel. Katsu created a new itinerary for us which exceeded our expectations!
