Most Yatai stalls open at 6 p.m. and especially ones in Nakasu area are usually very busy. I’d like to suggest we should start a tour before 6 p.m..
In stormy weather, many Yatai may be closed.

About Tour Guide Kazue I.
Hi! I am Kazue. I am from Fukuoka and live in the central city.
I spent almost 20 years traveling around the world as a cabin attendant. Meeting different people, different cultures and eating local food were best things in my career.
This experience definitely widened my perspective and will help me in some way when I work as a guide.
Since I spent half my life outside of Japan, I noticed our culture and traditions are very unique and became more interested in historical sites in Japan.
For my personal life, I am a mom of twins. It is still a hard work but I am enjoying a lot with them. We take them around Kyushu whenever possible for their fun and experience.
We all love traveling after all.

“Great Experience with Guide”
Recommended guide and very accommodative with my itinerary as it was our first time in Japan Fukuoka. Had been communicating with her on the tour plus also on the weather even before we head down to Fukuoka. “A cultural experience with Kazue”
Fukuoka is the only remaining place in Japan that still has an authentic Yatai experience. Cramped in a small food stall, this unique encounter is a must have for any avid travellers. As it caters mainly to locals, we felt more confident with a local guide to help us navigate the language barrier. Kazue was great, she helped us identify the more suitable yatai and the food served was really delicious. She helped to communicate with the owners and they accommodated our young kids. Through her conversations with owners, we got dishes suitable for us and it was a fulfilling experience eating there. Kazue was also very accommodating. It rained heavily on the scheduled tour and she allowed us to postpone the tour even though she was already on her way over. She felt that our experience was more important, placing service first. We are thankful and convinced that anyone who engage her would be in good hands. Thank you.

A must see walking tour at Hakata old town
The best season for walking around the city is coming very soon! In this tour you will visit the most charming spots in the city for approximately 4 hours. Hakata old town is home to many temples and shrines where you can feel about Fukuoka’s history and culture. This tour is suitable if you’d like to visit must see places efficiently with the information of what is the history and traditions behind. So take it easy! I will be your map and guide!
The introduction of Fukuoka city(6 hours)
In this tour you will visit the old town, the sea side area and the relaxing park. Basically what you must see in the city. From the old town to the sea side, we take a public bus from Hakata station unless you prefer a taxi, you can enjoy the ride looking at the scenery including sea and pay pay dome where baseball matches and some events take place. For lunch, let me know if you have preferences, otherwise you may grab something whenever you feel like!
The introduction of Fukuoka city(4 hours)
This is the introduction of Fukuoka city. In this tour I will introduce the main part of the city to you. First we visit temples and shrines in the old town of Hakata, followed by exclusive Japanese sweet shop. Then I can show you around the area including Asian museum, DEAIBASHI bridge and open space square for cafes and the dock for the cruising boat. All by walking! Is this your first time in Fukuoka? Then this is the tour for you!
Yanagawa River Cruising and Dazaifu Tenmagu
The river boat ride in Yanagawa is very enjoyable and relaxing! You never get tired of looking at unique view and beautiful waterways from the boat. Unagi-Seiromushi (Eel) , the specialty in Yanagawa is a must try! We can also visit Ohana, the former residence of feudal load who ruled this region during Edo periods, and the former house of Samurai. Dazaifu Tenmangu is kind of on the way back to the city. We can stroll around the shrine and you can grab local sweets and some souvenirs there!

I introduce nice Hotel' dinner. This dinner is delicious and the atmosphere is good. Price is reasonable. You can choose one of three main dishes. At a buffe corner, there are many kinds of foods. coffee, juice, salad, fruits, cakes too. You can eat as much as you want. I sometimes have a lunch with friend. So we can have a good time eating, drinking, talking. After eating dinner, I take you to the bar at the hotel.
Oyster hut & Karatsu castle
This is a winter only tour. We visit Itoshima to eat fresh oyster at Kakigoya means Oyster hut. As its name, we eat oyster in a hut like a big tent. You'll grill oyster, shrimp, scallop, squid and some other fresh seafood straight out of the ocean. Enjoy this special experience and fill your stomach! After all we take a train to visit Karatsu, Saga prefecture. We visit Hikiyama floats exhibition center and Karatsu castle. We take an express bus to go back to Fukuoka city.
