“Volcanos and Vinigar”
Sini was a lovely guide. She rented a car to drive around our group of 6. We started the tour by heading to the ferry terminal which transported us and the car to Sakurajima Volcano. We were able to beat the big busses and arrived at the museum before 9:00. This allowed us to enjoy the mineral foot baths and walk around the volcano without crowds. After completing a loop narrated by Sini and visiting the Arimura observatory, we enjoyed the museum and had plenty of time for photo opps before our next stop. Back on the ferry, we returned to Kagoshima and visited a vinegar field where we learned about the process of making rice vinegar. The farm has an extensive store that sells many of its products which you can sample and purchase, but the highlight for me was having lunch upstairs in their restaurant with has beautiful views of Sakurahama volcano. Having had a delightful traditional Japanese lunch with many plates took some time so we were a little rushed in the Japanese Samurai garden-Senganen. This is a world culture site that you could take a whole day to enjoy, but we had only one hour. We did have time to see the traditional house which required removing our shoes, but was a beautiful example of Samurai elite living. As promised, Sini returned us to the port at the agreed upon time and with a full day's adventure! We would highly recommend this tour for your day in Kagoshima.

Dear Andy, thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a wonderful and detailed review! It was an absolute pleasure guiding your group of six around Kagoshima. I am thrilled to hear that you enjoyed our morning trip to Sakurajima. Beating the tour buses and having the foot baths and trails to ourselves is always my goal, and I am glad it worked out perfectly for you. I also appreciate your feedback regarding our visit to Senganen. As you mentioned, it is a magnificent World Heritage site with so much to see. I am glad you still managed to experience the beautiful traditional samurai house, but I would love to show you the rest of the gardens at a more relaxed pace next time! Thank you again for highly recommending my tour. Wishing you all many more wonderful adventures on your remain cites. You are always welcome back to Kagoshima! Warmest regards, Sini

“A Thoughtful and Personalized Day in Kagoshima with Sini”
We had a wonderful day exploring Kagoshima with Sini, whose English name is Tiffany. She was a very kind, caring, and attentive guide who made us feel well looked after throughout the entire tour. Her ability to speak English, Japanese, Mandarin, and Cantonese was also incredibly helpful and made communication easy for our group. Although the weather on the day of our tour was not ideal, Sini handled everything beautifully and adjusted our itinerary so we could still have the best possible experience. She was flexible, thoughtful, and very accommodating to our preferences, which made the day feel personal rather than rushed or generic. One of the highlights was visiting the observatory to see the active volcano, Mt. Sakurajima, followed by the relaxing foot baths. It was such a unique and memorable experience, and Sini took care of the little details that made it even better — including providing towels for us to dry our feet afterward. We also visited the Samurai Garden, which was beautiful and absolutely worth seeing. Sini’s kindness, care, and attention to detail made our time in Kagoshima very special. For anyone wanting to experience Kagoshima in a more personal and tailored way, rather than joining a large tour group or cruise ship excursion, Sini is a wonderful guide to spend the day with.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a wonderful and detailed review! It was an absolute pleasure guiding you and your family around Kagoshima.I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed Mt. Sakurajima, the foot baths, and the Sengan-en Samurai Garden, despite the less-than-ideal weather. Adjusting the itinerary to make sure you had a comfortable and memorable experience was my top priority, so your kind words mean a lot to me. I always try to look after the little details, like the foot bath towels, to make my guests' day as smooth as possible. Knowing that it helped make your trip special is the best reward I could ask for. Thank you again for choosing me as your guide. If you and your family ever return to Kagoshima, I would love to welcome you back for another personalized adventure! Wishing you safe and happy travels ahead. (Sini- from Kagoshima)

The Samurai Soul, Craft, Culture, and Inner Peace in Satsuma.
This tour explores the samurai spirit and inner peace found in the samurai, visiting the armor workshops of master craftsmen and the miraculously preserved samurai residences of Irikiin. The age of the samurai began 700 years ago, culminating in the Battle of Sekigahara 460 years ago and ending 150 years ago with the Satsuma Rebellion, Japan's last civil war. Perhaps the spirit of the samurai still flows deep within the hearts of the Japanese people. Enjoy this mystical exploration.
