This tour explores the samurai spirit and inner peace found in the samurai, visiting the armor workshops of master craftsmen and the miraculously preserved samurai residences of Irikiin. The age of the samurai began 700 years ago, culminating in the Battle of Sekigahara 460 years ago and ending 150 years ago with the Satsuma Rebellion, Japan's last civil war. Perhaps the spirit of the samurai still flows deep within the hearts of the Japanese people. Enjoy this mystical exploration.

Irikiin Fumoto Samurai Residences.

This is a village of samurai residences known as "fumoto." Surrounded by a river, the miraculously preserved remains of samurai homes offer a sense of tranquil time passing.　Based on the Irikiin documents, Professor Kan'ichi Asakawa of Yale University published "The Documents of Irikiin" in 1929. It became a fundamental source of information on Japanese feudal society.
