About Tour Guide Kaneo U.
I’m so excited to have a chance to show you around my favorite spots in Kanagawa prefecture. I was born in Kanagawa. I spent my whole school life, including university, here in Kanagawa. I worked as a high school English teacher here for more than 40 years. I love Kanagawa so much. We have many interesting tourist spots, like Hakone, Kamakura, Enoshima and Yokohama.
I got my tour guide license in English in 2009. I am still an English teacher. To give an interesting and impressive lesson to young high school students, I’ve learnt and gathered many kinds of information. I also have a license to teach social studies, so I have a wide range of knowledge about Japanese culture and history. I’m sure to provide you an interesting tour.

“Sunshine and Blossoms - Kamakura”
Day 3 was a gloriously sunny Monday. After the snow and wind the day before, it was a welcomed site. Kaneo helped me complete some banking business first thing and then we headed off to visit temples in Kamakura. On the train to Kamakura I had a great view of Mt. Fuji!!! We saw early blossoms on plum, cherry and other trees, went into the belly of the Great Buddha, had my favorite lunch, and experienced Matcha tea in a bamboo forest amongst other things. Kaneo made my whole visit a success from start to finish.

Thank you for warm review. I am really happy to have a chance to show you my favorite spot of Kamakura under the blue sky, though Yokohama in snowing was also beautiful. I am also happy to share this memorial time with you. This is the most impressive guiding.

“Cold and Snow didn't stop us”
Day 2 of 3 days of tours with Kaneo was unusually COLD and SNOWY for Yokohama. I didn't mind so much since I come from Alaska. But, I know Kaneo felt the cold, but he still took me all over Yokohama - over 15,000 steps today. And he even found me a Gluten-free restaurant for lunch! Wonderful guide, very thoughtful!

It was cold but a beautiful day. I wish I had taken you to more spots. For me it was a rare occasion to guide in snowy Yokohama. I am happy to hear you enjoyed my guide in spite of snow weather. See you tomorrow. It will be a more fantastic day.

“Above and Beyond!!!”
Kaneo Uetake was an angel sent from heaven. I booked him for 3 days for custom tours to try to locate the temple cemetery where my grandparents were. He was very good and was able to narrow it down and actually find it. We went to visit the temple on the first day I was in Yokohama. He is very thoughtful, kind and knowledgeable about this whole area. I am glad I have 2 more days with him.

Thank you for your quick review. I myself feel miracle sometimes happens. I didn’t expect a member of the monk’ family is among our Facebook friends. I am truly happy that I can help you visit your ancestor’s tomb.

Tokyo,Now &Then
Tokyo is a modern metropolitan city built on an ancient Edo, where Tokugawa samurai government was settled. Even now we can find old relics of ancient Edo among truly modern Tokyo streets. Asakusa, Ueno and the Imperial Palace itself are some of the examples. Let’s explore Tokyo with me and find the soul of Japan.

Yokohama, Now & Then
Only a 30-minute train ride from Tokyo, you can reach the unique cosmopolitan city of Yokohama. Yokohama has two faces: modern and classical. In this tour you can enjoy a modern life at Minato Mirai 21 and a classical one at Yamate Heights and China town. MM21 is a national project, starting in 1984, to create a new city at its waterfront, suitable for the 21st century. Tokyo Hanami Tour
Cherry blossoms tell the start of Japanese spring. During cherry season, I will show you some of the best spots for "Hanami" in Tokyo. But the date of full blooming differs every year depending on the weather, which is hard to predict. Several predicting services compete in their predicting accuracy every year. Cherry blossoms usually start blooming late March and end at the beginning of April. They reach full blooming 7 days later. This year March 21.
