KAMAKURA! What a perfect place to escape from daily bustlness. The town famous for zen-buddhism and as the first de-facto capital ever established by samurais gives us splendid time to enjoy the rustic but solemn atmosphere.

KON-NICHI-WA (Hello) I’m Mitsuru (Mark) Sakai .
I was born in Hokkaido, the north part of Japan.
I moved to Seattle, USA when I was five and the name MARK was given by my classroom teacher then. It was also when I started to learn English, though it was a kid English, still I may using.
I came back to Japan when I was eleven and I experienced difficulties adjusting to new circumstances.
It was tough one.
Though, It forced me to notice the differences and similarities between the two countries.
Definitely these experiences became my precious back bone to be a tour guide still today.
My favorite subject is Japanese history especially regarding Shintoism, Buddhism and samurai-culture.
Also, since I studied architecture in university, I' m happy to introduce you our unique buildings and structures on the way.
However, my most favorite thing above all is to make your trip ever enjoyable.
I’d like to make you feel relaxed, safe and secured.
I wish I could see you someday soon..
Thank you.

“Teenagers were impressed!”
What a fantastic day with Mitsuru. I had originally sent him a list of shrines etc to visit but then realized my teens were exhausted from the history of Japan and I asked him to come up with an itinerary for us in Tokyo that teens would be interested in. We had the best day. We saw so much of Tokyo including parts of Tsukiji fish market that we would never have found on our own, Tokyo sky tree tower, Ueno Park, Akhihabara, Shibuya crossing, Harijuku etc. At the every end of the day we mentioned that we wanted to eat at a conveyor sushi restaurant. He took us to his very favorite restaurant in an area of Tokyo that we would have missed out on and we had a fantastic meal. He was knowledgeable, funny and interesting. He took us to some off beaten places that were fantastic

(40 reviews)Thank you very much for your warm review. I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to guide such a wonderful family as yours. There are still many places to see in Japan, so please do visit again, and I would be honored to be your guide once more
“Tour with Mark”
This was our first visit to Japan so having Mark show us how to use the train network and show us his favourite places in Tokyo was a great way to start our holiday. We have just returned home from a further 15 days travelling around this beautiful country. Thank you Mark for your expert guidence and our sore feet :) Kerry, Gil, Anne & Gary

(40 reviews)Thank you so much for your wonderful review. Yes, we visited many places, and I’m sorry to hear about your sore foot. With all the stairs we had to climb around Tokyo, I hope it didn’t affect the rest of your trip too much.
