KAMAKURA! What a perfect place to escape from daily bustlness. The town famous for zen-buddhism and as the first de-facto capital ever established by samurais gives us splendid time to enjoy the rustic but solemn atmosphere.

KON-NICHI-WA (Hello) I’m Mitsuru (Mark) Sakai .
I was born in Hokkaido, the north part of Japan.
I moved to Seattle, USA when I was five and the name MARK was given by my classroom teacher then. It was also when I started to learn English, though it was a kid English, still I may using.
I came back to Japan when I was eleven and I experienced difficulties adjusting to new circumstances.
It was tough one.
Though, It forced me to notice the differences and similarities between the two countries.
Definitely these experiences became my precious back bone to be a tour guide still today.
My favorite subject is Japanese history especially regarding Shintoism, Buddhism and samurai-culture.
Also, since I studied architecture in university, I' m happy to introduce you our unique buildings and structures on the way.
However, my most favorite thing above all is to make your trip ever enjoyable.
I’d like to make you feel relaxed, safe and secured.
I wish I could see you someday soon..
Thank you.

“Kamakura in Depth”
Mark and I had the most wonderful time walking through history exploring the lesser known wonders of Kamakura off of the tourist track. Mark is an exceptional guide. Smart, fun, and a superb English speaker, we enjoyed in depth conversations about history and modern Japan. I am looking forward to another tour with him in the future. Also you will enjoy going into more depth with Kamakura visiting the Zen and other sect temples that were founded during the 1200s. Not only are they beautiful but they resonate with generations of humans who brought their devotion to them. I cannot recommend Mark and this tour enough. A great and memorable day!

Thank you so much for the wonderful review. And thank you again for giving me the opportunity to guide you through Kita-Kamakura, my favorite part of the city. We walked quite a bit and even climbed 250 steep steps to reach Hansōbō at Kenchō-ji Temple— I just hope it wasn't too much! Also, while I appreciate your kind words about my English, I have to admit—my English is way far from superb It was a real pleasure spending the day with you, and I look forward to seeing you again in the future.

“Mitsuru/Mark is a fantastic guide!”
We really loved touring Tokyo with Mark as our guide. He is very knowledgeable about the history and culture of the sights we visited, as well as being personable and witty. We traveled around Tokyo on our first day in the city and it gave us a solid introduction to the city and the trains. After our day spent with him we were well prepared to get around on our own. He speaks very good English and I was able to understand him well. Highly recommended guide!!!
