KON-NICHI-WA (Hello) I’m Mitsuru (Mark) Sakai .
I was born in Hokkaido, the north part of Japan.
I moved to Seattle, USA when I was five and the name MARK was given by my classroom teacher then. It was also when I started to learn English, though it was a kid English, still I may using.
I came back to Japan when I was eleven and I experienced difficulties adjusting to new circumstances.
It was tough one.
Though, It forced me to notice the differences and similarities between the two countries.
Definitely these experiences became my precious back bone to be a tour guide still today.
My favorite subject is Japanese history especially regarding Shintoism, Buddhism and samurai-culture.
Also, since I studied architecture in university, I' m happy to introduce you our unique buildings and structures on the way.
However, my most favorite thing above all is to make your trip ever enjoyable.
I’d like to make you feel relaxed, safe and secured.
I wish I could see you someday soon..
Thank you.
Mitsuru Mark Sakai.

“Excellent Day in Tokyo!”
We had a fabulous day with Mark! He was extremely knowledgeable, very kind and thoughtful, he tailored the day to suit our needs, consulted us in the decision-making and took us to well-known attractions and little-known tourist spots. We would highly recommend Mark to guide you round Tokyo!!

Thank you very much for your heartwarming review. It was truly an honor to guide you both around Tokyo. I was deeply impressed by your father's vitality at 95 and the wonderful bond you share together. Please take good care of yourselves and enjoy the rest of your stay

“Outstanding introduction to Tokyo & Japan”
Mark gave us a wonderful first day in Tokyo and Japan. Before we arrived he was very responsive. On the day, we finalized the plan. As we traveled he answered all our questions about the history of Japan, contemporary lifestyle, current economics, politics and culture, plus advice on logistics of our trip. We couldn’t asked for a better guide. We started with classic historic sites. As we discovered a shared interest in architecture, he redesigned the afternoon to visit a few exceptional buildings. Thanks Mark for an outstanding day. I’d recommend Mark v highly.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It was a true pleasure to be your first tour guide in Japan. In fact, I might have been the one who enjoyed the architecture the most! So I should be the one thanking you—for giving me the opportunity to share those amazing buildings with you.
