KAMAKURA! What a perfect place to escape from daily bustlness. The town famous for zen-buddhism and as the first de-facto capital ever established by samurais gives us splendid time to enjoy the rustic but solemn atmosphere.

KON-NICHI-WA (Hello) I’m Mitsuru (Mark) Sakai .
I was born in Hokkaido, the north part of Japan.
I moved to Seattle, USA when I was five and the name MARK was given by my classroom teacher then. It was also when I started to learn English, though it was a kid English, still I may using.
I came back to Japan when I was eleven and I experienced difficulties adjusting to new circumstances.
It was tough one.
Though, It forced me to notice the differences and similarities between the two countries.
Definitely these experiences became my precious back bone to be a tour guide still today.
My favorite subject is Japanese history especially regarding Shintoism, Buddhism and samurai-culture.
Also, since I studied architecture in university, I' m happy to introduce you our unique buildings and structures on the way.
However, my most favorite thing above all is to make your trip ever enjoyable.
I’d like to make you feel relaxed, safe and secured.
I wish I could see you someday soon..
Thank you.

“Book your tour with Mark - excellent guide!”
We had a wonderful day in Tokyo with Mark. He adjusted the tour and its timing based on our requests and it worked out perfectly. We saw a really great mix of quieter areas as well as the typical busy spots. Mark is very knowledgable on a wide variety of topics, from modern architecture to to local history and insights into Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines. Our daughter has celiac disease. Mark was extremely helpful in explaining this to restaurant staff and understanding what options would work for her. And having him as our guide helped us to get familiar with the trains system in Tokyo. Arigato, Mark!
