In this tour, we will visit two famous(so famous!) temples which have gorgeours colored maple leaves early in the morning, and after lunch, we will visit Ginkakuji Temple. Meeting time should be at 7:30~8:00 at your hotel(in Kyoto) or JR Kyoto Station. 'The early bird gets the worm.' We should start early and enjoy the marvelous world before so many people come. (Even if we arrive at Tofukuji Temple at 8:30, we will find many people there!)

Meeting Point
7:30 at your hotel in Kyoto or 8:00 at JR Kyoto station
Eikando(Zenrinji): This temple has another name,'Eikando of autumn leaves'. You can enjoy walking around the garden filled with beautiful as many as 3000 colored maple leaves.
Tofukuji: This temple is one of the 'Five most important Zen temples in Kyoto.' A view from Tsutenkyo bridge is so famous.
Ginkakuji: The two-storied pavillion is modeled after the Golden Pavillion (Kinkakuji), however, no silver is used for this temple. The modest appearance and beautiful sand garden represent traditional Japanese beauty of 'Wabi-sabi.'

* I'm very sorry, however, there are many steps inside of Eikando (Zenrinji), so, if you need to use a wheelchair, I recommend you to walk around only in the garden.
* There are many people visiting Kyoto during this period. Please find your hotel and book a room earlier.
*The time when Japanese maple leaves turn into red depends on each year. (Ususally around November 15 to the end of November.)
*This tour is available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday this year. As for tours on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, please send me a mail and ask.

I was born and grew up in Otsu,Shiga, which is the next city of Kyoto.
I graduated from the university in Kyoto and lived there for four years due to my husband's job.
I like history and like to visit temples in Nara.
My hobby is to plan trips and have visited many cities and towns in Japan and abroad. One of my favorite places is the AIRPORT!!

“Memorable Kyoto with Tomoe”
We had a private tour of Kyoto with Tomoe as our guide, and she was fantastic! She was friendly and knowledgeable, and her spoken English was very good (much better than our Japanese!). We had communicated with her before our arrival, with the sites we wanted to visit. On the tour date, she picked us up from our hotel, and was very prepared with the bus/train routes we had to take. Overall, it was a memorable sightseeing day with a very enjoyable guide - we highly recommend Tomoe!

“Expand your journey in Japan!”
Japan has so much more to offer than just Tokyo and Kyoto. Step into the countryside and see some amazing places. I had the pleasure of visiting Hikone Castle with an excellent guide Tomoe S. she did some amazing research on some family history that I provided. “So nice she guided me twice! ”
I had such a great time on my Kyoto guided trip last year that I came back this year and did a guided tour of Nara with Tomoe. I had a great time as usual. She booked the train tickets from Kyoto to Nara for me, which was a big help. First we went to Kohfukuji Temple and Museum. Next we saw the huge Todaiji Temple and Ningatsudo Hall with the beautiful Buddhist sculptures. We stopped for a delicious udon noodle lunch. In the afternoon, I really enjoyed the Kasugataisha Shrine. We finished off the day with Isuien Gardens, which were beautiful. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience. Thanks again, Tomoe!
