About Tour Guide Koichi W.

Hi! I'm Koichi. I was born in Osaka, I studied in Kyoto when I was a university student. Now I live in Shiga next to Kyoto. I am a national government licensed tour guide. I have been guiding about 160 groups over the past twelve months.

I usually guide my customers mainly in Kansai region including Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Kobe and Shiga by public transportation systems.

Well, I am curious about Japanese history, especially the history of Japan's ancient times since I was raised next to the world biggest mausoleum of the ancient Emperor called "Nintoku" in Sakai city Osaka which has just become one of the world cultural heritage sites. I dug out some ancient earthen ware vessels around there when I was a primary school student like the adventure archaeologist “Indiana Jones" (It’s our secret!!). That was my hobby. Now, one of my hobbies is outdoor activities such as mountaineering, kayaking, skiing and others. So I would like to take you to some good places where you can enjoy Japanese unique nature.

I love to guide foreign visitors from all over the world. I think it is my calling or heavenly given job. Let's go and enjoy together! I hope to see you soon.

Reviews

Great tour with lots of information

Had a great tour with Koichi. He met us early at our place and helped us navigate Kyoto transportation to get to the sights before they got too crowded. He was willing to adapt our itinerary to help us see what we were interested in. Highly recommended!

Hi! Marcus san. Thank you so much for the wonderful rating and comments. Although it was only a half-day, I’m grateful for the opportunity to spend time with such a wonderful family. If you ever have a chance to visit Japan again, please come to Shiga, where I live. I think you’ll get a feel for the charm of the countryside there. Koichi

A wonderful day with dear Koichi san

On our first day with Koichi we had the opportunity to get to know Osaka. Koichi san is a funny, energetic, nice and smart person. We can highly recommend him as a tour guide. The contact with him was always perfect. At the end of this first day we were already looking forward to our second day with him :) Dear Koichi, thank you so much for your time and your patience with us. It was a huge pleasure to meet you! Thank you so much for the wonderful rating and kind review. I, too, am truly grateful for the opportunity to meet you both and spend time with you. It was hot midsummer days, but thanks to your fitness, I was able to complete the tour without a hitch. I would be delighted if you could visit Shiga, where I live, during a slightly cooler season next time Arigato-gozaimasu!! Koichi
