Hello! I am Kanae, a nationally licensed guide. While working full-time as a lecturer at a local university in Kyoto, I have also been guiding for two years.
Born and raised in Kyoto, I am excited to share the beauty and culture of my hometown with my customers. Kyoto is an enchanting city, and even as a local, I am continually fascinated by its many charming spots. Whether it's the serene temples, vibrant markets, or hidden gems, there is always something new to explore and appreciate in this wonderful city.
Also, since my home is close to Shiga Prefecture, I am very familiar with the area. While Shiga may not be as popular as Kyoto, it offers a wealth of attractions for tourists. From historical sites such as temples and shrines to the stunning natural beauty of Lake Biwa, the largest lake in Japan, there is much to see and do. I am passionate about promoting Shiga and sharing its unique charm with visitors.

“Perfect all around”
We were in Kyoto in the heat of summer and a morning tour was just what we needed. We didn't want to be out in the scorching afternoon. Kanae was very accommodating and courteous; she communicates well in English . She took us to the attractions and kept track of the schedule. She even hiked up to the Monkey park with us. She was prepared with cold water and drinks. We strongly recommend Kanae to any family looking for a tour guide.

“Early bird highlights with Kanae”
A very enjoyable tour with Kanae. We started early which is really wise given the high temperatures of August and potential tourist affluence. Kane was attentive to our well being, especially our kids who were both warm and tired. She provided with interesting information throughout the tour as well as tips over things to do or where to eat afterwards. It was simply a perfect tour for a first visit in Kyoto.

“Kyoto trip”
Kanae was amazing in showing us around Kyoto over 2 mornings. She was very knowledgeable about the sights and made sure we saw all of them. She also gave us a list of other things that we could see near our hotel and in Osaka. Took us to a very nice and traditional ramen place for lunch which was excellent. Would recommend her services to anyone visiting the area.
