Mt.Koya is one of the center of Buddhism in Japan which was built by monk Kukai(Kobo Daishi) 1200 years ago. He went China to study esoteric Buddhism and spread it in Japan. He built a temple building complex for training here. In Koya there are more than millions of graves or tombs or memorials of all kind of religions including Christianity. It is very interesting place.

1. We will walk around 4 hours in the town. Please wear shoes suitable for walking.
2. Altitude of Mt. Koya is about 800m so it is colder than Kyoto. You should wear more clothes than in Kyoto.
3. Mt Koya is far from Kyoto. It is located 120Km south from Kyoto. If you are late for meeting time, we would miss a bus for Koya. It means we have to take another way to Mt.Koya which take more hours to get.
I can guide you from Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe, and Nara if you pay the pick up fee.
Please ask the fee.

(42 reviews)Dear Stefan Thank you for your evaluation. I am sorry I stop working in Kyoto this summer because of the heat. But I have tours in other areas and I will start to work in Kyoto from next fall. Yours sincerely, Yoshi
“Great Itinerary ”
We had a very pleasant time being led around the city with Yoshi. He had an extensive 2 day itinerary and we could not have seen as much without his guidance.

“Kyoto has so much to offer!”
Yoshi showed us not only the sights but all the transportation modes in Kyoto. He was very well prepared, handing us printed information on different topics such as different eras and religions. He adapted the tour to our needs. The only negative comment is that his English is sometimes difficult to understand. We had a great day!
