In this tour, we can visit all the must-see places in the southern part of Kyoto together. Fushimi, known for the Fushimi Inari Shrine with its thousand torii gates and sake breweries, and Uji, famous for its matcha and the Phoenix Hall, each hold a unique position in Kyoto. During this tour, I, who have lived in Uji for three years and now work in Fushimi, will share the charm of these two towns from a local's perspective, as we explore by bicycle.

“Hidden Gems”
We read the description of the intiniary and knew, that is what we want, no tourists, the rural japan and the life beyond the big cities. And we weren‘t disappointed. We were lucky or unlucky, depending on our footwear and resistance to the cold, that it was snowing heavily. But Ryuichiro adapted the day's program perfectly. We got a great insight into Japan away from the big attractions. We ate the best soba and tempura ever, met the most passionate sake producer and drove through the mountains on the narrowest roads in Kyoto. And on top of all that, I was able to collect a not-so-common goshuin for my mini collection. Thank you Ryuichiro! We were very happy to have this experience with you, it was not only informative and interesting, but also sociable and fun! We had a lot of fun and look forward to inviting you for a fondue in Zurich soon! ありがとうございました。 -Silvio and Nico

Hi Silvio and Nico, It was such a pleasure to spend a day of your amazing vacation with you yesterday. Even though the snow had me a bit worried at first, I'm really glad we had a safe and fun time together. There are still so many awesome spots in Kyoto—and all over Japan—that I'd love to show you, so please come back if you ever get the chance. I won't be able to catch up on my Zurich trip next week, but I do travel there quite a bit. Next time I'm in town, let's definitely grab some fondue together! Enjoy the rest of your vacation and stay safe. Feel free to reach out if you need anything. Take care! Ryuichiro MINE

“Caring, Thoughtful & Flexible Guide in Kyoto!!!”
Ryuichiro was the best guide! I planned a Japan trip for my family of 7. Ages 77 to 9 years old. Plans changed daily and everyone had their agenda on what to do. Ryuichiro was great to adapt to everyone’s needs. He is patient , easy going and let us take our time when we were at the sites. Ryuichiro is a great translator, he also took us to the local spots where we didn’t see many tourists which was great! Not only did he plan our day he suggested excellent restaurants , reserved our dinner reservations and gave us suggestions on things to do outside of our “tour day”. Ryuichiro is a great guide and will be great for your Kyoto tour needs!! Thank you Ryuichiro for being so accommodating!
