This itinerary is an indication of some of the city's highlights. Before or even during the tour we will discuss the most interesting route for you. Depending on your pace, there is time for about 5 highlights and several more hidden gems.
Twenty-Six Martyrs Museum and Monument
The Twenty Six Martyrs Monument and museum are dedicated to the twenty six Christians who were executed here on February 5, 1597.
Fukusaiji temple
Unique temple in the shape of a turtle with on top, a giant Kannon, the Goddess of Mercy.
Suwa shrine
Nagasaki's major Shinto Shrine, 400 years old and a centre of the local community. It is famous for its annual Kunchi festival.
Hamanomachi Arcade
From one place to another we will often pass through the bustling Hamanomachi Arcade built in 1936. This area has been filled with many shops and restaurants since long before the arcade was built.
Soufukuji temple
Designated national treasure, one of the most beautiful Chinese temples in Nagasaki.

Dejima
The fan-shaped island of Dejima was home to the Dutch Trading Post. it was the central conduit for foreign trade and cultural exchange with Japan during the isolationist Edo period (1600–1869), and the only Japanese territory open to Westerners. fee about ¥1100.
Dutch Slope
The many western style houses in this neighborhood are still witness to a bustling period around the time of the Meiji restoration when many Westerners settled in Nagasaki to kick-start the Japanese industrial revolution.
Atomic Bomb Museum / Peace Park
Built to commemorate the atomic bombing of Nagasaki City on August 9th, 1945, Nagasaki Peace Park reminds us of the horrors of war, while also expressing hope for peace. The complex is comprised of two parks and the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum. Fee about ¥200.

・This tour involves normally a lot of walking, and stairs, so please make sure to wear comfortable clothes and protection from the elements, especially the sun can be strong here.
・To a certain extent it is possible to opt for fewer stairs and visit alternative places. We can also take busses, trams and taxis to make your trip more comfortable and efficient. If you cannot walk stairs at all it is probably best to use a rental car, in that case let me know well in advance.

“An Unforgettable Day in Nagasaki with Armando”
Wow! I cannot say enough great things about Armando and our day in Nagasaki. We had a group of 11, and from the moment we booked the tour, Armando was excellent. He communicated with us for months in advance, answered all of our questions, and made planning easy and stress-free. During our tour, Armando shared his extensive knowledge of his hometown of Nagasaki and took us to places we never would have discovered on our own. We explored the historic Oura neighborhood (the former foreign settlement), Holland Slope, the former Chinese settlement, the Maruyama neighborhood, a local food market, Sofukuji Temple, Teramachi Cemetery, and the beautiful viewpoint at Kazagashira Park. What made the experience so memorable was Armando himself. He was knowledgeable, friendly, engaging, and clearly passionate about sharing the history, culture, and stories of Nagasaki. He made everyone in our group feel welcome and ensured we had an enjoyable day from start to finish. We ended the day with ice cream and sake while reflecting on everything we had seen and learned, which was the perfect way to conclude an unforgettable experience.
