Nagasaki is a very hilly city and can be challenging to walk, especially for those of us in our later years. Armando ask regularly how we were doing and made adjustments as our needs dictated. He was very knowledgeable about Nagasaki and came will multiple visual aids. We visited important sites not typically seen on a local tour. Armando is very personalbe and easy to understand and spend time with. He helped find a suitable restaurant and and absolutely amazing ice cream shop. “Bad Weather, Great Back Up Plan! ”

Yuki did a bunch of research for this tour in terms of transportation, timing, and boats we could use. But when bad weather hit, he suggested an alternative indoor focused trip on Fukue Island. Although he and the boat operator gave me the option to continue with boat tour, I am glad he had a back up plan that ultimately proved very rewarding. He was only able to have the back up plan by being very communicative with me and knowing what interests I had and was able to customize it. Appreciated his flexibility.

Meeting people who are working, right now, to sustain the history and tradition was the highlight. By learning and seeing the past and developing sites, I now feel charged and empowered to keep their stories alive. Yuki took great care and designed a trip around just me.
