Itinerary

09:00 AM

Meeting Point

Nagasaki International Cruise Ship Terminal Building

- “Your one-of-a-kind Nagasaki experience starts right here.” There is a cash exchange machine and a model ship in the main lobby of the port, so please wait there.

09:30 AM

16C: Dejima community

At Dejima, the stones and gates quietly reveal the early whispers of “the separation of church and state”—long before it became a global ideal.

Dejima is a small, fan-shaped island built in 1636 as Japan’s only gateway to the West during its isolation era. For over 200 years, it stood as the sole bridge for cultural and technological exchange between Japan and Europe. Today, its restored buildings and exhibits offer a rare glimpse into this fascinating chapter of global history.

10:30 AM

19C: Oura Cathedral, Triangle Praying Zone

In this place, the shrines and cathedral quietly speak of “freedom of faith” and “coexistence of faiths.”—concepts quietly embodied here for centuries.

In the Prayer Triangle Zone, three distinct religions—Shinto, Buddhism, and Catholicism—have coexisted peacefully within just one hundred meters of each other. This isn’t simply a coincidence; it’s a powerful reminder that even during turbulent times, spiritual harmony was possible.

What deeper meaning might you discover as we walk through it together?

Entrance fees:

Oura cathedral is 1000JPY(cash only), Triangle Praying Zone is Free.

11:00 AM

19C: Graver Garden

Here, a simple and beautiful garden offers you a moment of peaceful rest.

Glover Garden is a scenic hillside park with beautiful views of Nagasaki and its harbor. Western-style mansions from the late 19th century, including the home of Thomas Glover, offer a glimpse into Japan’s modernization.

And if you’re not too tired, this is also the perfect place to learn how a global giant like Mitsubishi was born right here.

-Admission Fee: 620JPY for adults (cash only)

12:00 PM

Lunch Time: Explore 400 Years of Japanese Culinary Tradition

My recommendation is Wagyu, sushi, tempura, Shippoku course meals. Many restaurants are needed to reserve, so I need to know your request. And I must know the information about your allergies and food you can’t eat because of your background.

01:30 PM

20C: Atomic Bomb Museum

At this place, the air itself speaks of “everything.” I choose to speak as little as possible—because I am not a narrator, but a professional in hospitality.

At a place like this, I believe it’s important for everyone to reflect on their own. The exhibits and explanation boards here serve as primary historical sources, carrying far greater weight than "anything" guides could say.

However, if by this point in our journey we have become friends, I might mention ”something”.

Entrance fees are 200 JPY.(Credit card is accepted)

20C: Atomic bomb hypocenter park

Passing point of Peace Park. You can watch the site of the cathedral wall which was victimized.

Entrance fees are free.

20C: Peace Park

Nagasaki Peace Park commemorates the 1945 atomic bombing, symbolizing hope and resilience. The park features the iconic Peace Statue, a solemn reminder of the past and a wish for a peaceful future. Nearby, the Fountain of Peace honors victims, while tranquil pathways invite reflection on history and harmony.

Entrance fees are free.

03:30 PM

20C: One Leg Shrine Gate

The One-Legged Torii is a powerful symbol of resilience in Nagasaki. Originally part of Sanno Shrine, one pillar was destroyed by the 1945 atomic bomb, leaving the other standing. This remarkable sight serves as a silent witness to history, reminding visitors of the city's strength and determination to rebuild.

Entrance fees are free.

04:00 PM

21C: Farewell time, Nagasaki International Cruise Ship Terminal Building 2

“I hope Nagasaki’s story left a special mark on your journey.”

Ending Point

Nagasaki International Cruise Ship Terminal Building 2

About Tour Guide Katsu N.

Hi, I’m glad you found my page!

I’m a local guide based in Kyushu who loves sharing the region’s history, food, and landscapes in a relaxed and friendly way. Think of me as someone who can make your trip comfortable and memorable, while keeping things easygoing and fun.

I began guiding to share the history, scenery, and food of my home with visitors from around the world. Before this, I worked in luxury retail, where I learned how important details and genuine hospitality are. Now I bring that same spirit to my tours, making sure every guest feels comfortable, cared for, and free to enjoy their journey.

I specialize in private car tours around Kyushu, so you don’t have to worry about train schedules or carrying luggage. We can stop where you like, take things at your own pace, and enjoy the scenery along the way. Onboard you’ll have free Wi-Fi, music, and a comfortable ride—perfect for families, couples, or friends who want both convenience and a touch of luxury.

Some of my favorite places to share are:

Nagasaki: Peace Park, Atomic Bomb Museum, and the city’s cultural blend

Fukuoka: Dazaifu Shrine, city highlights, and Yanagawa’s river cruise with eel dishes

Kumamoto: Mt. Aso’s volcanic views, Kumamoto Castle, and Kurokawa Onsen

Oita: Hita’s riverside town, plus Beppu and Yufuin hot springs

Saga: Arita’s ceramics and the Yoshinogari ancient site

Takachiho Gorge: A mystical canyon tied to Japanese legends

What I enjoy most is helping guests discover both famous sights and hidden corners of Kyushu, while keeping the experience comfortable and stress-free. Whether you’re drawn to culture, food, history, or beautiful scenery, I can adjust the plan to match your style.

I’d love to share my part of Japan with you and create memories that last long after your trip. If you have any questions or requests, please feel free to send me a message. I look forward to welcoming you to Kyushu and showing you what makes this region so special!

Reviews

Dear Silke and Oliver, /// Your feedback truly means a lot to me. /// Thank you very much for your kind and generous words. It took me a little time to reply, as I was reading your message while recalling the bits of German I learned back in university. /// As for English conversation, I sometimes tend to speak too quickly when discussing something technical for the first time. I actually remember getting a bit confused when I tried to explain why Japan’s and Germany’s climates are similar — using Köppen’s climate classification, which I learned long ago in my earth science class. /// That aside, I always take great pride in my hospitality and guest care, so please rest assured that you’ll be in good hands when we meet again. /// Warm regards from Japan, Katsuhisa /// P.S. For the benefit of future guests, I’ve included an English summary of your message below. /// Katsu is the best tour guide and the perfect choice for a private tour. We preferred not to join large groups, and after another experience, we realized how much better it is when everyone speaks English. From the moment we booked, Katsu stayed in touch and tailored the itinerary to our wishes. He was already waiting for us before the tour and guided us to his spacious, comfortable car, prepared with cushions, blankets, drinks, and great music. /// Our drive from Fukuoka to Mt. Aso through Kumamoto was scenic and smooth. Katsu checked with park staff to ensure the crater was open despite wind and rain. The green Kusasenri Grassland and volcanic scenery were breathtaking. When the ramen restaurant we planned to visit was closed, Katsu quickly found a cozy local home where we enjoyed delicious homemade food. /// His English communication was good — sometimes a bit challenging, but always clear with patience and teamwork. Overall, this was a perfectly organized and memorable tour. If we return to Japan, Katsu will be our first choice again.

Amazing nature of Kyushu

What an amazing trip! From the majestic views of Mount Aso to the stunning beauty of Takachiho Gorge, the nature was awesome. Katsu-san was fantastic—a very safe and smooth driver who made the long journeys comfortable and enjoyable. A perfect, stress-free tour thanks to him!

Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! I’m really glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour, even though we finished a bit later than planned. There are many more beautiful places to explore in Kyushu, so I hope we can meet again someday. I’m already looking forward to that day!
