Nara area used to be a Capital of Japan for 80 years (Heijyoukyou;A.D.708-810).After transferring the Capital to Kyoto, Nara was remained as a center of Buddhism. Although many temples remained such as Todaiji and Kohukuji, many other temples have been established but abolished in its long history, then only stone Buddha images are remained as an evident of the history.

Meeting Point
At your Hotel in Nara. Tour will first go to Ganshoji by bus.
Gansenji (Gansen temple) established in 729 which located at the summit of the mountain.
Walking along the local trails through mountain, local communities where sell the local products.
Visiting many stone Buddha images including laughing, sleeping Buddha, Amitabha Buddha, Jizos and many others along the trails.
Visiting Jyoruri Temple where has pagoda with three stories and Amitabha Buddha (national treasure).
Ending Point
At your Hotel in Nara. You will return to Nara city by bus from Jyoruri Temple.

I have worked in the multi-national organizations including UN agency for around 30 years and stationed at various cities including Rome, Bangkok and Hanoi. Although I have retired from those international carriers, I wish to keep the international cooperation and develop the friendship with people who visits our country. As I like history and am practicing Noh song and wood curving of Buddha images, I have decided to live in Nara where is surrounded by many historical places and traditional cultures, when I returned back to Japan in 2017. “Great Tour Guide”
My wife and I toured three days in Kyoto and one day in Nara with Yasu. I would definitely recommend him as your private tour guide. One day tour in Kyoto (Arashiyama area)
Tour will start from the Hotel in Kyoto. Frst visit is Kinkakuji temple (Golden Pavillion ),then, to Ryoanji tmple where is famous for rock garden. Tour will stop at Arasiyama area to take lunch and visit Togetsu bridge, Bamboo grove, Tentyuji temple and others. The last visit is NIjyo castle. As these places are normally crowded. using chartered taxi is highly recommended in order to effectively use your valuable time in Kyoto.

Yamanobe-no-michi Road, the oldest road in Japan, runs through at the foot of eastern mountains of Nara Basin.
