“Wonderful! Kind, flexible and thoughtful! Amazing with kids! ”
We had an absolutely wonderful day in Nikko, and so much of that was because of our amazing guide. She was kind, patient, thoughtful, and incredibly accommodating from beginning to end. We were able to see so many beautiful places, including Lake Chuzenji, Kegon Falls, Toshogu Shrine, and Rinnoji Temple, as well as a natural history museum. She made the entire day feel completely seamless, and we never had to worry about figuring out transportation, timing, or where to go next. Having a guide took so much stress out of the day and allowed us to simply enjoy being together as a family. What meant the most to me was how wonderful she was with my son. She was so patient with him and made sure the experience was interesting and fun for him, too. At one point, he dropped a toy, and she was so kind and genuinely happy to help me run back and forth trying to find it. It was such a small moment, but it really showed me what a caring person she is. She never made us feel like we were inconveniencing her or that we needed to hurry. She helped make our day in Nikko one of the most enjoyable and memorable parts of our trip. We saw incredible places, learned so much, and were able to experience everything without the stress of navigating it all ourselves. We are incredibly grateful for her kindness and patience and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone visiting Nikko. If you are traveling with children, I especially cannot recommend her enough. She made us feel comfortable, cared for, and truly welcomed.

“Gorgeous Hotsprings, Lakes and Waterfalls”
Ryoko took us on a magical journey through the volcanic backcountry of Nikko. She showed us the boiling sulphur springs, beautiful lakes set in picturesque landscapes and majestic waterfalls as well as the shrines and temples along the way. Transportation was organized flawlessly by her ahead of time and we got everywhere we intended to go quickly and smoothly. Even some rainshowers could not put a dent in the day as she was well prepared and kept us dry. Her in-depth knowledge of the area showed when she explained the detailed culture and traditions behind the spirit world celebrated at the temples, shrines and waterfalls. Learning about the Dragon Head Falls was particularly impressive. After the tour we wrapped the day up sharing an excellent Japanese meal during which Ryoko taught us some more about Japanese dining culture and the local specialty yuba. Days like this one are the kind that form memories we carry a lifetime. We can highly recommend Ryoko and her wonderful services as well as the Nikko area.

“UNESCO World Heritage Site in Nikko”
The site is impressive and a living display of cultural heritage. Ryoko took us on an amazing personalized trip through the temple and shrine of Nikko and explained the rites and history in wonderful detail. She took great care in making the trip fun as well as educational, all while taking exceptional care of us on a personal level, too. We had a wonderful time and look forward to coming back and having her show us around some other sites in Japan.
