My name is Tateo. I am officially registerd English tour guide and introducing about Okinawa's history, culture, and nature.I am elderly person but have gone through lots of expericences that happened during US occupation after WW2. For the example, change of monetary system(US dollar to Yen),Change of traffic regulation(driving vehicle from right to left). The reversion of Okinawa to main land Japan was biggest historical event. The US administered Okinawa for 27 years. As a result, thing were Americanized in many aspects. Historically, Okinawa was once independent nation until 1872.During Kingdum era, Okinawa actively traded with China, South Asia Countries, Korea, and Japan. In the end, our culture is quite differ much from main land Japan. For instance, architectural technique, daily customs, and culture are also unique. Okinawa is the only prefecture belong to subtropical climate zone. Even winter time, it's neither hot nor cold. People can enjoy marine sport all through the year.Canoeing, Kayaking, Diving, and Snorkeling are popular.
Besides, beatiful white sand beaches and attractive coastline are abundant. Green sea water and blue sky have been lured people from all over the world. Traditional music and dance are worth seeing. Please visit Okinawa and enjoy extraordinary trip. I will be looking forward to seeing you soon.

“Absolutely the best !!”
My wife and I were on a group tour to Tokyo, Kyushu and Okinawa and I wanted to specifically visit some Karate sites while in Okinawa since my late Sensei grew up in Okinawa and taught Karate there before coming to the USA. So, we booked a separate tour with GoWithGuide and Tateo U. to visit these Okinawan karate sites. Our tour guide Tateo U. was absolutely outstanding from the moment we met him in the hotel lobby. Tateo U. was extremely personable, and well prepared. I believe he even visited all of the sites that we wish to visit prior to taking us. He even contacted all of the sensei(s) who I wanted to meet. In my mind, that is going "above and beyond" the call of duty. What also impressed me is that at the end of our tour time Tateo U. walked with me to show me the way to one of the sensei's dojos because the dojo did not open until later that night and after the tour had ended. I mentioned to Tateo U. that if we ever have the opportunity to visit Okinawa again or if we have friends who plan on visiting Okinawa, we will highly recommend that they contact Tateo U. and GetWithGuide to receive the absolute best service available. Tateo U. is absolutely the Best !! Thank you GoWithGuide and a ton of gratitude to Tateo U. Absolutely fantastic and a tour and tour guide that made our visit memorable. With my highest regards for Tateo U. and GoWithGuide Don and Vicki M. Seattle, Washington USA

This tour was not typical sightseeing tour but a tour of the world of Karate that deeply connected you to Okinawa. The tour itself was trip to visit Karate masters, Dojo, and Monuments of famous ancestors. I am also pleased to have been able to introduce you to the teachers who were connected to your teacher in America and to the sympathy of the same style. I hope that this tour will remain cherished memory for you even after you return home. Your deep feelings for Karate really touched me. If you ever come to Okinawa again, please let me know. Thank you for your wonderful review at the end. Best Regards Tateo U.

“Excellent private tour guide”
If I could, I would rate Tateo a 10. He went above and beyond our expectations as a private tour guide, translator and driver. I came to Okinawa to find my grandparent's house. The last time I was here was back in 1979. He helped me to complete my mission. We were able to find where the house once stood. If we're ever back in Okinawa, we will definitely hire Tateo again.

I'm glad that I was able to accompany you on a tour to find your own memorable places rather than typical tourist spots. Okinawa has changed a lot in the last 46years, but you were able to meet someone you wanted to see again and places. I hope this tour will be a memory that you will cherish forever. Finally, thank you very much for your wonderful review. Tateo U.

“Okinawa Tour”
Tateo was an amazing tour guide, an older gentleman with the energy of someone half his age! He was friendly, professional, and clearly passionate and knowledgeable about his home. He was also very considerate of my pregnant wife throughout the tour. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide!
