Takayama is located in the north of Gifu, central Japan. It takes about 2 and half hour from Nagoya by highway-bus. While bus riding, you can enjoy beautiful mountainous scenery, especially in winter, the snow-covered landscape from the bus window is wonderful!! Takayama is an old castle town, I am sure you will have a wonderful time while walking through the nostalgic town street!! Takayama also has a lot of high quality craftsmanship, you can experience such a skillful art by yourself!!

I am Yuriko from Gifu Prefecture. I was an assistant English teacher at junior high school. I started to work as a National Certificate tour guide in 2019.
I'm very interested in kimono, tea ceremony and Japanese castles. I sometimes guide in kimono. There are so many nice places to visit in Gifu and Nagoya! I also guide around Takayama, Shirakawago, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka and Kanazawa if you pay my transportation fee from my hometown. Let's enjoy Japan with me!

“Great Tour To and Through Gujohachiman”
The tour itself was a nice mix of relaxation, walking, and a small hike to Gujohachiman castle. The silk screen printing was also a very fun and simple experience. But of course all good tours are because the guide themselves are great people. Yuriko-san was a very fun and informative guide. She’s also incredibly kind and great at involving you in conversations with locals as a translator rather than just talking by herself. I also had a lot of fun learning about her life and family and sharing my stories as well. If you’re in or near Gifu prefecture, I highly recommend Yuriko-san as a guide!

Local classic train-ride and silk-screen printing in Gujo
Gujo is an old castle town, where holds bon-dancing every summer. You also enjoy dancing together! Local classic train takes you to such a nostalgic town. You also enjoy the beautiful scenery of clean river and mountains from the window during the train-ride. Hikone Castle is one of the five National Treasure castles. The castle is on the hilltop and you can see beautiful scenery of Lake Biwa and castle town. Beside the castle, there is a beautiful Japanese garden, named "Genkyu-en". If you like, you enjoy a cup of green tea with Japanese sweet. After lunch at the castle town, let's enjoy cruise to a small sacred island, Chikubu-jima. In the sacred island, there are a famous temple and a National Treasure shrine. I'm sure you like it!!
