“Great Tour with Steve – Plan Ahead for Figure Shopping”

Steve was great. He picked us up perfectly on time. The car was very comfortable and clean. He accommodated an alternative route to go through all 10 statues. He explained a lot about the Kumamoto area and stopped at different viewpoints to admire and take some pictures too. We couldn’t buy all the figures since some places were closed: we arrived too early for Jinbe; Sanji, Chopper and Robin selling points were closed due to an unusual day off to make up for previous Golden Week festivity. I’d say that if you just want to visit the statues and take pictures, any day works. If you plan to buy all figures, make sure to tell Steve and (double and triple) check the days (and opening hours) of the selling points beforehand, and plan accordingly. Nevertheless, we could get two of the missing figures on our own, and Steve offered to drive us to the remaining ones another day, which made our day, and we left Kumamoto happy with all of them. I can only recommend Steve for a tour around Kumamoto.

My husband and i are foreigners from the USA, and his(my husband) dream has always been to come to Japan since he’s always loved anime and the culture. When we arrived to Kumamoto we hit some pretty big roadblocks that caused us to believe that his goal of seeing all 10 statues would only be down 2of them. I had seen that Steve had an open spot, i messaged him and he responded quite quickly. He was very helpful and very knowledgeable of his hometown. He made sure any doubt we had was quickly taken care of, and if any request was made he made sure to handle it. When i say that as tourist in a foreign land you feel the nerves of traveling or speaking with the locals etc.. he made sure we felt non of that. We truly were just in the moment living and experiencing the tour. His car is quite spacious and very comfortable. We had no issues whatsoever, and to be fair my husband has always been very wary of people; but I actually saw him very comfortable and chatty with Steve. Connecting over games and quite literally anything they talked about. We even got to see some of his old students that he used to teach while on the tour. Back to the statues, he helped my husband collect all the figures but one (due to reasons out of our control). He also knew so much in terms of getting to the statues, figures, routes to take to beat the crowds. He made this trip so memorable for us when we believed that this trip was going to be a bad one for us. I have no doubts if you book with him you'll also have the same great experience. :) Here are some pics of our experience

“If there is one thing that you must do in Beppu is book Kei for your guide.”

The first thing you must do when visiting Beppu is book Kei to be your guide. We had a fantastic day out with Kei, he escorted us to all the sites we want to see and also modified his tour to accommodate our requests. His knowledge of all the places we visited was exceptional. I don’t think we could have seen so much without his expertise. He knew all the spots for photos of all the main attractions, most of them we would not have found without him. Thank you for a wonderful day it was a pleasure to meet you and an unforgettable day in Beppu, all the best for the future, Anthony and Janet.

Hi Anthony-san, I'm very glad to go on our venture with multi-multinational gangs. It's so funny how it was Day 1 for each of us, making the day such a special. Thank you for being talkative, easy-going and cooperative, which helped the tour going very effectively. Hope you have a pleasant trip in Japan & Korea.
