For the past almost 10 years, I have mainly guided foreign medical professionals around Hiroshima City and Miyajima, gaining a deep understanding of the effects of radiation and the support for A-bomb survivors. Hiroshima is a city of rivers and the sea. Along the rivers Cherry trees line, and the calm Seto Inland Sea, dotted with islands, creates a stunning landscape. Also, the sea has many islands called "art islands" which have fantastic arts relating to the art festival "Setoushi Triennale". In addition to our two World Heritage Sites, this area is rich in attractive resources. I hope many of you will come and experience this fascinating land. “An amazing day”
My family and I spent the day with Kazumi exploring the main sites of Hiroshima and had the most amazing time. Kazumi was informative and it was so lovely to hear about her experiences living in the city, her life and growing up in Japan. She also shared more context and stories about the places we visited that we never would have known about otherwise, it adds so much more to the day. Lunch was one of our favorite meals of the whole trip, and I would really recommend anyone going to Hiroshima book this tour!
