Yoji was not only extremely knowledgeable of the area, but he is a super nice guy and seems to really understand what his clients are looking for in the tour. He is flexible with schedule and helped us to navigate the train system, actually stopping by the station with us and helping get the right tickets for the rest of our visit. Highly recommend Yoji.

“A worthwhile and scenic excursion from Kanazawa”

If you are visiting Kanazawa and wish to take the scenic excursion to Shirakawa-go and Takayama, I can think of no better first step than making contact with Yoji. Yoji proved not only knowledgeable, but highly personable. Since there were six of us in our group, seven with Yoji, a rental car was required. Yoji facilitated this arrangement as well as setting an itinerary for us that was both full and flexible. We never felt rushed and Yoji was always willing to make adjustments. His choices for street food, ice cream and ramen were all spot on. Conversationally, Yoji is affable and open, with a depth of interests and experiences to draw from and his command of the English language is excellent. There are other guides you may choose in the Kanazawa area. Some may be less expensive. I can't speak to the others, I can only speak to my family's experience with Yoji and collectively give him our highest endorsement. This was money well spent and an experience well worth having.

“The quintessential tour guide.”

Yoji is kind, personable, reliable, knowledgeable. This being my first visit to Japan, a visit to relatively remote Shirakawago, Suganuma and Ainokura inspired some trepidation for me. Commencing with the planning phase, with his quick response to request, flexibility to adapt the schedule, through his punctuality on the day of trip, through his willingness to make an addition to the itinerary on the day of the trip. His professionalism , dependability and kindness made for an outstanding experience for me. If a six star rating was possible , this would be one of those. Thank you Yoji!!
