Hiroshi is a fantastic guide with a great knowledge of his home land. We went up into the Yasui valley and explored the Hiryu falls, Crystal basin and Sabine dam with the beautiful blue water streams. On our way back to the ship we stopped at a small country restaurant for some traditional Japanese lunch. Then Hiroshi took us to another little seaside restaurant to try the local delicacy of seared bonito. It was amazing, despite our reservations. It is so good to have local food and experiences when you have a guide to translate and assist you. Hiroshi has a great Toyota van that is very clean and comfortable. He was punctual and mindful of getting us back to the ship. Hiroshi is a keen photographer and gave us many photos of our experiences with him on the day. Make sure you book early so you don’t miss out on this kind and amazing guide in Kochi.

I loved being able to take you both away from the usual tourist path and share places like Yasui Valley and the Crystal Basin, spots that most visitors never get to see. “Kochi Private Van for 6”

We booked this private van while visiting Kochi on our cruise, and it turned out to be a memorable experience on our entire trip. Our only regret is that we did not learn our driver’s name because he absolutely deserves recognition for how wonderful he was. From the moment we met him at the port, he was kind, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. Although he was a non-English-speaking driver, communication was never a problem. He used a translator application throughout the day, and we were genuinely impressed by how effectively and comfortably he communicated with our group. What truly set this experience apart was how much he cared about making our day special. He didn’t simply drive us from place to place and wait in the car. He accompanied us up to Kochi Castle, walked with us to Chikurin-ji Temple, and made sure we experienced the very best each location had to offer. He pointed out the best viewpoints, showed us excellent spots for photographs, and even took pictures for our group so we could all be included in the memories. His local knowledge and thoughtfulness made the experience feel far more personal than a standard transportation service. We never felt rushed, and he seemed genuinely invested in ensuring we enjoyed every stop. If this review reaches the company, please extend our heartfelt thanks to our driver. He was exceptional.

“Wonderful introduction to Kochi!”

We had a great time exploring Kochi. We were able to fit a lot in that we wouldn’t have been able to do ourselves in a short cruise stop. Hide provided interesting info at the stops and on the travels between sites. The lunch restaurant was fantastic and had a good selections so everyone could get something they liked. Thank you Hide and our driver for the wonderful introduction to Kochi!

I'm very happy to receive your excellent review. We were blessed with good weather and I'm sure you enjoyed the Kochi tour. Kochi Castle is one of the 12 oldest castles in Japan. It looks like 4 stories but 6 floors inside. It is completely different from European Castles. We had lunch that you liked at a good restaurant at Katsurahama Beach. Lastly we visited Makino botanical Garden and Chikurinji Temple where you looked bamboos with a strong life force. I hope you enjoy Japan trip on a cruise ship.
