“Kyoto with Leo!”
I had a great day today exploring Kyoto with Leo! We chatted the whole time about Kyoto’s history, different Japanese traditions / customs I wasn’t familiar with, and we visited different shrines and temples (and now I know the difference lol). We also visited a few shops that had things I told him I was interested in while setting up the tour and that was super nice! I never would’ve seen the areas we went to if it wasn’t for him. Exploring Japan solo has been really wonderful, but getting to spend today with Leo was a treat! Definitely recommend.

“A Quiet Day Exploring Ohara”
Our first day in Kyoto was in Ohara, a small but historically significant town NE of the city. Our guide reached our multiple times prior to our meeting to confirm day/time, but also inquired about what our hopes were for the day together. Shuji was on time and we found him to be the ultimate guide for this all day experience. As a retired history teacher, and native to the area, we had a guide with deep insight to places we explored together, which included 800 year old temples punctuated with hip coffee and lunch spots along the way. This was exactly what we were looking for after a hectic pace in Tokyo! If you are looking for a professional and knowledgeable guide to show you to the lessor seen corners of Kyoto, Shuji is the man.

“Two Day Tour with Tomoe”
We had the most amazing two day tour of Kyoto with Tomoe. She was easy to communicate with, punctual, respectful, kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable and eager to please. She went the extra mile to ensure that we enjoyed our experience to the maximum. She provided directions, showed us how to write our names in calligraphy, brought cookies for my son on Valentine's Day and so much more. She was an absolute delight! I highly recommend her.
