A chauffered tour of the modern history of Hiroshima including the A-Bomb Dome, and the monuments and museum in Peace Memorial Park, followed by lunch as per what might be your available preference but I recommend Hiroshima okonomiyaki, a scrumptious layered savoury pancake.
Visit an absolute gem, temple grounds dotted with statues and memorials, and afterward, we'll take a stroll through Hiroshima’s classical Japanese landscaped pond garden, once the sole privilege of the ruling lord.

A tour of the Peace Memorial Park (includes A-Bomb Dome, significant memorials, and monuments sand Peace Memorial Museum) We begin at "ground zero" where I set the stage with an in-depth talk about the history of the earth-shattering events that led up to and surround the 6th of August 1945.
as discussed and agreed though I recommend Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki scrumptious layered savoury pancake you can customise for taste and watch it prepared before your eyes!
Not so much the temple as a tour of the sublimely serene temple grounds dotted with waterfalls and ancient memorials and statues, reaching back to the 9th CE nestled on a mountainside just outside the city. Truly a gem not to be missed!

“Interessante giornata a Hiroshima”
Hugh e’ stato una guida molto preparata, efficiente e simpatica. Grazie ai suoi racconti e alle sue spiegazioni siamo riusciti a immergerci nella cultura, anche culinaria, della città. Lo consiglio!

“A most interesting, informative and fun tour”
Hugh provided a wonderful tour for our small group of 4. It was both very informative and a lot of fun. He is extremely knowledgeable about the locations we toured, providing great depth and insights into their details, history and significance. He was also able to answer all our other questions about Japan in general. He clearly has a deep love and understanding of all things Japanese. Thanks Hugh for a wonderful tour!

“Enjoy a special day in Japan with this Aussie guide”
Hugh was incredible! He is a Japanese soul with an Aussie accent. His deep love and respect for Japan was immediately evident and he generously shared his take on history, culture, and language on our day-long adventure. He was easy to contact by email pre-trip to work out some details and was on time at our hotel starting point. We spent a full day on foot, train, and ferry to significant locations in and around Hiroshima. We especially enjoyed our lunch stop for okonomiyaki (savory pancake) at a wonderful location we never would have found on our own. Our group of 3 finished the day 10 times smarter than when we started.
