Hi, I'm Kahori, a nationally licensed guide interpreter, and have just started working with GoWithGuide! I’m delighted to show people around this area. For the past almost 10 years, I have mainly guided foreign medical professionals around Hiroshima City and Miyajima, gaining a deep understanding of the effects of radiation and the support for A-bomb survivors.
Hiroshima is a city of rivers and the sea. Along the rivers Cherry trees line, and the calm Seto Inland Sea, dotted with islands, creates a stunning landscape. Also, the sea has many islands called "art islands" which have fantastic arts relating to the art festival "Setoushi Triennale". In addition to our two World Heritage Sites, this area is rich in attractive resources. I hope many of you will come and experience this fascinating land. Personally, I am very passionate about modern art and enjoy sports like stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) on our rivers.
I look forward to meeting you, interacting with you, and also, learning from you!

“Kahori M. - Excellent Guide”
We had an outstanding tour with Kahori, covering the Peace Memorial Museum, Peace Park, Hiroshima Castle, and Shukkeien Garden. She brought deep knowledge, empathy, and storytelling to each site, balancing historical detail our group's familiarity. Kahori was extremely efficient in navigating us, and was very adaptive when unexpected changes—a visiting foreign dignitary—created some extra traffic at the museum. The pacing was thoughtful, and Kahori handled logistics smoothly while remaining highly attentive to our questions and energy. This was one of the most meaningful tours we’ve taken—highly recommended for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of Hiroshima.

“Terrific Hiroshima Area Guide!”
Wow, what a wonderful day on the World Heritage Site Miyajima Island with our guide, Kahori! Kahori met us at our cruise ship berth in Hiroshima and immediately whisked us to Miyajima Island via a short and very scenic ferry ride. She timed our arrival on Miyajima to coincide with the morning high tide so we could witness the world-famous Itsukushima Shrine's "floating" torii (gateway). Later, during low tide, Kahori escorted us onto the sand to view this famous Shinto torii up close. What a beautiful awe-inspiring sight! We spent the entire day with Kahori on Miyajima, and she escorted us to and explained the historical background and significance of each sight on this beautiful and historic Japanese island. In addition to the Itsukushima Shinto Shrine, these include the famous Daisho-in Buddhist Temple where Kahori showed us a "secret" underground passage used in Buddhist training exercise. It was a bit "spooky, " but very fun and extremely enlightening! The many "jizo" bodhisattva in the temple grounds were both extraordinarily cute and very peaceful. We later took a beautiful nature walk on Mount Miso where we observed numerous camphor, Japanese cherry trees (the famous blooming sakura), and lovely Japanese maple trees which turn a beautiful golden red in autumn. For lunch, Kahori introduced us to one of Miyajima's famous oyster restaurants, where we lunched on world-famous Hiroshima Bay oysters on the half-shell with some local tea and sake. Delicious! After lunch, Kahori escorted us to the Itsukushima Shrine's museum, which has centuries' worth of items gifted to this famous shrine. Some of my favorite exhibits include samurai weapons and armor-- including some fabulously-ornamented helmets--along with many beautiful gilded calligraphic manuscripts. If you are seeking a kind, intelligent, knowledgeable, and very well organized guide who is a Hiroshima native and knows this region, its history, and people well, I highly recommend Kahori-san!

Thank you very much for your kind and warm review! I will continue to do my best to live up to your evaluation. It was a bit unfortunate about the ropeway with strong wind but I had a wonderful time with you during the tour. You are a very studious guest and already had a lot of knowledge. It is a great honor to talk with you. Thank you so much for everything! Kahori

Thank you for this opportunity! Even though it was a very busy time of the year due to a Japanese national holiday, the tour went smoothly thanks to your kind consideration. Mt. Misen was also an exciting hike, wasn't it? I hope to see you again sometime!
