I was born and raised in Hiroshima, and my love for this city led me to switch from nursing to guiding. As a guide, I specialize in Hiroshima city downtown, Miyajima, Futaba no Sato, Onomichi, and Tomo-no-Ura. I also introduce secret photo spots and hidden gems. Using my experience as a nurse, I prioritize meticulous care and bring my natural brightness, aiming to provide a guide experience that allows you to fully enjoy Hiroshima.

“Unique Hiroshima Tour: History, Culture, and Care”
Our tour around Hiroshima with Rika was truly unforgettable. The day began with a scenic ferry ride to the small island of Ninoshimacho, where we immersed ourselves in Japanese culture by learning to make onigiri and fold paper cranes. This hands-on activity set a thoughtful and engaging tone for the rest of the trip. While on the island, Rika shared its history, including its important but lesser-known role during World War II. After Ninoshimacho, we continued our exploration of Hiroshima, visiting key historical sites connected to the atomic bombing. Her insights were both educational and heartfelt, giving us a deeper appreciation for the resilience of the city and its people. Rika took us to the peace memorial, where we had the deeply moving experience of placing our paper cranes as a symbol of remembrance and hope. What truly set her apart was her kindness and attention to detail. She went out of her way to offer advice and assistance for our onward travels, even writing a note we could show at restaurants to inform them of my daughter’s food allergy. This extra care made us feel incredibly supported and at ease throughout the trip. Rika’s knowledge, warmth, and thoughtful approach made this a very meaningful travel experience. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Hiroshima and its surrounding areas!

I am truly delighted to receive such a wonderful review, and I’m so happy to hear that you enjoyed your time in Hiroshima. My husband and I enjoyed the cookies you gave us, savoring them while feeling a touch of foreign charm. Thank you so much for that as well. I believe that travel should be both enjoyable and safe, and it brings me great relief to know that my support could be of some help to you. Please do visit Hiroshima, the city I deeply love, again someday to enjoy a relaxing time on the island. Thank you very much. Rika

“Amazing Tour Guide”
We had such a fantastic day with Rika! She took us to a beautiful little house on the island of Ninoshima where we learned how to make onigiri and fold origami cranes. She talked about her childhood growing up in Hiroshima and told us the story of Sadako and the thousand cranes. We spent the afternoon in Hiroshima touring places that were not the normal sites for tourists and she took us through the history of the bombing of Hiroshima and the process of healing and recovery that has taken place since. I highly recommend that everyone visit Hiroshima when traveling to Japan and book a tour with Rika. It was a very special day.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I’m delighted to hear that you found the onigiri-making experience, the island house visit, the origami crane activity, and the time at the Peace Park meaningful. For me as well, the conversations we shared about peace and Hiroshima during the ferry rides and at the island house were both enjoyable and meaningful. It was truly an honor to meet you both in Hiroshima, a place I hold so dear. Please visit Hiroshima again—I’ll be waiting for you! Rika

Memories of Hiroshima : Miyajima & Peace Park Tour with some secret photo spots
“Fabulous Guide”
It was such a pleasure to be able to tour with Rika. From the moment we contacted her, and throughout the whole process, she maintained excellent communication. She arrived at our hotel very warm and welcoming. We didn’t have the best weather day initially so she changed plans to start inside and get local by making one of their famous okonomimura pancakes (a famous Hiroshima dish). We toured the Hiroshima memorial museum. During the tour she told us many stories of what happened to the people and also of survivors. She made you really feel close to what happened. After that we went to the peace park and honored the victims and also their families. It was beautiful and at that time the weather cleared. We also went to the atomic Dome. She also threw in some extra local little surprises that made the whole day very special. I would highly recommend her because you could tell she loved what she was doing, and wanted to share the stories in history of Hiroshima.

I’m truly grateful for your wonderful review, and I’m incredibly happy to hear your thoughts. Although the weather wasn’t ideal, I’m glad we could enjoy making okonomiyaki, one of Hiroshima’s most iconic dishes, together. Walking through the local shopping arcade and experiencing Hiroshima’s history at Peace Park were meaningful moments, and I’m thrilled that you could share them with me. I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in this beautiful country, and I look forward to the chance of meeting you again someday. Rika
