Tomoe was genuine and honest. When I did the booking for the Marvelous Autumn World tour for November 11, she told me that November 11 would be a bit early to see the fall foliage in full display and would monitor the progress. Prior to the tour, she was also very kind to answer multiple questions I had for Kyoto including how to get to various tourist spots in Kyoto. On the day of the tour, she took time to make adjustment with our interest in mind. We ended up visiting a site which had autumn foliage progressed and two other sightseeing spots that we had not visited yet. She is warm and treated us like her friends. She even surprised us with a limited edition of Pocky as November 11 was Pocky Day in Japan! She also explained to us the Japanese language with respect to Japanese names of people and places. When it was lunch time, she was quick and flexible to phone a reasonably-priced lunch spot as the area was full of expensive vegetarian restaurants. She spoke fluent English that was easy to understand. We will definitely recommend her to everyone!
Dear Frances, Thank you very much for such a warmhearted review! You are so nice family and I enjoyed the day with you in Kyoto! I'm glad that you enjoyed the autumn foliage in Kyoto, such as at Kiyomizudera Temple, Tenjyuan, and Fushimi Inari Shrine. Please say 'hi' to all of your family. I hope that you will come back to Kyoto again. Thank you very much for booking me. TOMOE
We've had many a tour guide in our travels but I must say Tomoe was the best we've ever had. She handled our 3 generation family of 12 (ages 5 to 74) with ease. She is a remarkable woman, kind, thoughtful and very punctual. Before arriving in Japan, I corresponded with her at length and she answered every question I had promptly and made many suggestions. When we met at Nara Station, she remembered all our names and gave everyone a gift! She took pictures for us and led us all around Nara Park and Todaiji. She took us to Mizuya Chaya (a very quaint and picturesque restaurant) for lunch with deer all around. What an unforgettable day it was! We did another tour with her in Kyoto. She arrived very early to our hotel and we did a tour to Kiyomizu Temple and Fushimi Inari Shrine. She arranged taxis for all 12 of us which was a feat in itself. She knows Nara and Kyoto (and I'm sure Osaka) like the back of her hand. We had train reservations from Kyoto back to Kansai Airport but no seat assignments. She swiftly guided me to the JR Ticket Office through the maze of Kyoto Station and hoards of people and helped us get our seats! I was so thankful. You will truly be in good hands with Tomoe! When we said goodbye, it felt like saying goodbye to a friend. I recommend her highly. You will not regret it! Janet Feyerisen
Dear Janet, Thank you sooo!! much for such a warmhearted review!!! Thanks to you, I was able to spend super! wonderful! great! 2 days in Nara and Kyoto. I like all of your family and have missed all of you... Please come to Kyoto (and Nara) again. Janet, you are a great tour leader! Thank you for finding me and sending me a mail of inquiry. Thank you for giving me the precious meeting with my best friend! TOMOE
My family and I had a wonderful time with Tomoe-san during our Nara and Kyoto tour. We were awed by the beautiful Nara park and Fushimi Inari Shrine and amazed by the majestic architectural masterpieces and teachings (preserved until now), reminiscent of the greatness of the Japanese empire. Tomoe-san was a superb guide, teaching and explaining the history, culture, and religious beliefs behind those structures and practices, and sharing interesting facts and anecdotes which made the tour interesting and full of learning. She was very patient, thoughtful and generous and is very good in her craft. She planned and organized the tour very well- the schedule, the places, the lunch, the transportation. She anticipates what her guests need and prepares for them. She also has good communication skills in English. I recommend Tomoe-san if you have a tour in Nara-Kyoto area!
Dear Julie and my favorite family, Thank you so much for such a warmhearted review so soon! What a great day spending time with you in Nara and Kyoto! You are so sweet and all of your family are so nice. Thanks to you, I felt as if I were a member of your family (even though my given name doesn't start with 'J'). This is some of the best things that can happen to a guide. I do hope that you will make wonderful memories in Japan and will come back to Nara and Kyoto again to spend more time. Thank you very much again for giving me such a nice meeting. I miss all of your family, Julie, Judy, Jane and Julian. TOMOE
Tomoe was absolutely AMAZING! She has great communication and provided above and beyond service. She would message me to keep me informed on weather and things to look out for. During our time she was flexible and a true expert in the Kyoto area. She even brought us Japanese snacks! She has such depth of knowledge and passion for her work. Don't miss out and book her! THANK YOU TOMOE for an unforgettable experience in Kyoto & Osaka!
Dear Alba, Thank you sooo much for such a warmhearted review! You're the first guest for me after 2 and a half years' blank due to COVID-19. Even since you booked me, 'Japanese regulations for travelers from abroad' has been changed and we have exchanged so many mails before meeting (about 60 mails!). You are such an attractive person and that's why I was able to spend unforgettable time with you. Thank you so much for choosing me as your guide in Kyoto and Osaka, and letting me share the precious time with you. You are AMAZING! I miss you all, Alba, Eddie, Daniel, Jane, Karina and Jody. Please come to Kyoto again! TOMOE
