One of Kyoto's most iconic landmarks is the Kinkaku-ji, also known as the Golden Pavilion. This stunning Zen Buddhist temple is adorned with gold leaf and overlooks a tranquil pond, creating a mesmerizing reflection that enchants every visitor. Another prominent temple is the Kiyomizu-dera, famous for its wooden terrace that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city.
Ryoan-ji
Kyoto is also renowned for its beautiful traditional gardens, which serve as an oasis of peace amidst the bustling cityscape. The Ryoan-ji Zen garden, with its meticulously arranged rocks and raked gravel, provides a serene space for meditation and contemplation.
Kodai-ji
Similarly, the Kodai-ji garden showcases impeccable landscaping, complete with a teahouse that allows visitors to partake in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony.
Fushimi Inari Taisha
For history enthusiasts, the Fushimi Inari Taisha is a must-see destination. This Shinto shrine is famous for its thousands of vibrant red torii gates that lead up to the sacred Mount Inari. The path through the gates provides a memorable hike and is often associated with good fortune and success.

“Professional & VERY Flexible!”
Our guide, Jong (sp?) had a little difficulty finding us at the cruise port in Yokohama, but kept communication open to find us. We were halfway to Tokyo when we realized we forgot a piece of luggage because it was small. Our driver patiently drove us back to the port to retrieve it! We then had the rest of the day to tour Tokyo. He dropped us off in Ginza for some shopping, Tsukiji Fish Market to explore and have lunch (a must see), and Asakusa Temple for more sights and nearby shopping. We also were dropped near the entrance of Tokyo Temple, but it was closed and rainy, and the walk thru the courtyard was one way and we couldn't turn back. Had we known that, we would have preferred not to visit. We were then dropped safely at our hotel on Tokyo Bay.

Unfortunately, it rained that day. We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. I hope you have a wonderful day in Japan. SoQ

“Efficient and warm transfer to and from resort”
We had two transfers with SoQ-san this month, between Narita and Mt Naeba. Both times, SoQ was prompt (in fact, early!), made sure we knew where to meet, and handled our luggage for us with care. He was very patient on our arrival in Japan as we needed to withdraw Yen - he took us to the ATM with the most favourable exchange rate in the terminal, too. Both journeys were efficient and comfortable and SoQ-san did not seem to mind the many questions we had en route! We will definitely book his service again next year - so much easier than multiple transfers by train/Shinkansen/ shuttle bus.
