“One day highlights of Kyoto: Fushimi-Inari (South Kyoto), Gion & lunch, Golden Pavilion (North West Kyoto) then back for sunset at Yasaka Jinja. ”
Koki was in contact with us from the start and very proactive in suggesting routes & things to see and asked us for ideas to incorporate into the day. He met us at the hotel & led us out on our day of discovery in Kyoto. It was a long day but well paced & we had a great stop for a sushi lunch in Gion before going North to the Golden Pavilion. All-in-all a good day. Koki was very informative throughout with lots of interesting & useful information about the sights, Kyoto & Japan more generally. He is a former schoolteacher so you can be sure that he has prepared for the day! Chris & Family

“A Great Day in Kyoto & Nara with a Very Friendly Guide!”
We booked a full-day private tour of Kyoto and Nara with Koki N. for our family of four (2 adults and 2 children, ages 12 & 15). Koki was a warm and friendly guide who clearly knew a lot about the historical sites he took us to. A Seamless Morning in Kyoto: Koki was perfectly on time, meeting us in our hotel lobby at 7:30 AM. We started the day at the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and then headed to the Sagano Romantic Train. Koki made sure everything went smoothly for our group of five in the "Rich Car" (Car 5), which was a wonderful experience. From there, we visited the famous Fushimi Inari shrine. Highlights and Challenges in Nara: After Kyoto, we headed south to Nara. Koki guided us expertly through the impressive Todai-ji Temple and the Kasuga Taisha Shrine, providing great details along the way. A Minor Letdown: We were a bit disappointed that we couldn't get any deer crackers to feed the bowing deer that day, which was something we were looking forward to. Lunch Experience: We stopped for lunch at a Sri Lankan restaurant that was unfortunately overcrowded and quite disappointing. Final Thoughts: Koki is a very flexible and knowledgeable guide who is great to have with you. Our day did end up running one hour over the scheduled 10 hours. While I appreciated the extra time, I was slightly unhappy as I felt the overcharge for that additional hour was a bit much. Overall, Koki is a lovely person and a very capable guide. If you are looking for a friendly and flexible guide for your family adventure in Kyoto and Nara, he is a solid choice!

Hi Jeetandra, Thank you for your frankly comments. Thank you for joining on the my tour on such a slightly chilly, rainy day. I would like to once again apologize for any shortcomings regarding the deer crackers and lunch. I will modify this point. Although the schedule was tight, thanks to everyone’s tremendous cooperation, we were able to successfully visit Sagano, Fushimi Inari Taisha, and Nara Park. I look forward to seeing you and your family again. Koki
