Meeting Point
Kintestu Nara Station
- It’s very easy to get to Nara from either Osaka or Kyoto. You can take the Kintetsu Line directly to Nara Station.
Kofuku-ji Temple
Kofuku-ji Temple was established in Nara at the same time as the capital in 710. It is famous for it's five-storied pagoda, the second tallest wooden pagoda in Japan just seven meters shorter than the five-storied pagoda at Kyoto's Toji Temple. See this temple for yourself at sunrise!
Kasuga Grand Shrine
Kasuga Grand Shrine is famous for it's lanterns, which have been donated by worshippers. There are approximately 3000 stone and bronze lanterns, standing as one of Japan's most historical shrines. It holds significance as the sacred grounds that inspired the presence of deer in Nara Park.
Todai-ji Temple
Todaiji Temple is famous for its Great Buddha Statue, the biggest Buddha statue in Japan. Until recently, this temple's man hall was the world's largest wooden building. It looks beautiful but once you know the history to why it was built and it's historical significance, you will be shocked!
Nara Park
Nara Park is home to thousands of wild deers. These deers are considered to be sacred because it's said that one of the 4 gods in Kasuga Shrine rode the deer to Nara. The cute thing about these deers is that they bow at you when you feed them! It's an experience that everyone should try!
Ending Point
Nara Park

Thank you so much for your quick and wonderful review. We truly had a very enjoyable day together. The weather was perfect — not too hot and not too cold. We shared many great conversations, learned a lot together, and enjoyed a very delicious lunch as well. Thank you again, and I sincerely hope we will have another opportunity to meet again in the future.

“Awesome Tour!”
Akira is an engaging, caring and passionate guide! I had arranged for this trip for my elderly parents and myself. From the initial discussion with Akira, he had recommended places which would not require that much walking to cater to my parents but yet we did not miss out on any must-go sites in Osaka! Akira is very knowledgeable and I must say, it is not my first trip to Osaka but after this tour, I understood so much more about Osaka's history! Akira also made sure to cater to our different needs and his food recommendation is on-point! And of course, making sure that we get the best photo spots! He speaks both Mandarin and English which makes communication super easy. I would strongly recommend booking a tour with Akira regardless of whether it is your first time in Osaka or not. You will definitely see Osaka in a different light!

Thank you so much for your kind words and wonderful review. I truly feel very fortunate to have been your family’s guide here in Osaka. Especially your parents — they were very talkative and enjoyable to spend time with. Osaka is truly a very charming city, and I’m happy that we were able to explore its history, culture, and food culture from many different perspectives. I hope you were also able to understand why Osaka is called “Japan’s Kitchen.” I really hope that I will have the chance to see all of you again in the future. You are always welcome to come back to Osaka. Thank you very much again.
