Meeting Point
In front of the statue of a loyal dog at Niigata Station
- You will find a statue of a loyal dog at the east exit of Niigata Station. It is on the second floor.
NEXT 21 Observation Deck
You can enjoy a panoramic view of Niigata City from the top of the building and learn about functional layout of the town which was created about 370 years ago.
Strolling in Furumachi
You can visit an old downtown called Furumachi, where you see historical buildings of several traditional Japanese restaurants, 'ryotei' and you can also learn about Western influence on Niigata City after Niigata port was opened to foreign countries more than 150 years ago.
The Niigata Saito Villa
The Niigata Saito Villa is a mansion owned by a wealthy merchant with a strolling garden with a path around the pond. You can enjoy its breathtaking harmony between garden and architecture or integration of garden and building.

You can choose several types of food both Japanese and Western food according to your preference.
Hakusan-Shinto Shrine & Hakusan Park
You will visit one of the most popular Shinto shrines in Niigata and learn about what Japanese people do and pray for when they visit a Shinto shrine.
Shopping at Isetan Department Store
You can buy attractive souvenirs which are unique to Niigata for someone you love.

・The guide fee
・Basically this is a walking tour in downtown Niigata, but you might use public transportation (bus) once or twice if you are too tired to walk especially in the afternoon.(approximately ¥600 for both customer and guide) .
・Lunch (approximately ¥1,500 per person for both customer and guide). Kindly cover the guide's meal during work.
・Admission to The Niigata Saito Villa is ¥300 for adults, ¥100 for children.

* Please let me know in advance if you have any food allergies or other dietary restrictions.
*This tour involves a lot of walking, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes.
Important message from the supplier
Basically I am available on weekends and Wednesday the whole day until March in 2027. I am also available on Monday before 12:00 and Friday after 13:00. I don't live in Sado Island but in Niigata (mainland) area now. I can guide you in Sado Island as well if you pay my transportation fee. I won't be able to reply from July 28th to August 20th.
