A hot spring resort town with various tourist attractions and views of Mount Fuji is located around the lake's eastern end, while the northern and western shores are mostly undeveloped.
Arakurayama Sengen Park
Arakurayama Sengen Park stands in a dense forest and is set off from the road by a long approach lined by stone lanterns and shaded by tall cedar trees. The shrine's red painted buildings include a main hall dating from 1615, a dancing stage and a few auxiliary buildings.

Oshino Hakkai
Oshino Hakkai (忍野八海) is a touristy set of eight ponds in Oshino, a small village in the Fuji Five Lake region, located between Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanakako on the site of a former sixth lake that dried out several hundred years ago. The eight ponds are fed by snow melt from the slopes of nearby Mount Fuji that filters down the mountain through porous layers of lava for over 80 years, resulting in very clear spring water that is revered by the locals.
Fujiyoshida City (Honcho Street)
Honcho Street in Fujiyoshida provides one of the best views of Mount Fuji, and is a must-visit for any one visiting the area. After spending several weeks in Japan, it was one of our most memorable moments visiting this amazing street!
Yamanakako Village
Lake Yamanaka is the largest of the Fuji Five Lakes, located at the northern foot of Mount Fuji, and is located in the southeast. There are many view spots of Mount Fuji scattered along the lakeside, and in winter you can see "Diamond Fuji" across the lake.
