This comprehensive tour explores Kitakamura,; Meigetsuin Temple ( full moon shaped window), Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine which is the samurai shrine of Kamakura, Wakamiya Oji street & Komachi street for shopping & lunch, (Great Buddha of Kamakura) & finally four seasons Hasedera temple.

Meeting Point
Yokohama Central Post Office (outside) or your hotel in Yokohama area

Meigetsuin Temple (entrance fee included)
Meigetsuin Temple was founded in 1160, and later became a Zen temple and worship the Kannon bodhisattva, Goddess of Mercy.
The Temple has so many hydrangeas that it is known as Hydrangea Temple
The temple's interior features a nice circular window, which
frames the scenery of the inner garden behind it. The inner garden is known for its irises and is open to visitors only during two periods of about two weeks per year: in June when the irises are in bloom, and in late November/early December when the autumn colors are at their best. The moon window of enlightenment was absolutely scenic & tranquil although you cannot walk on the corridor to go near the window but you can take the picture outside. There is also a small bamboo forest, a rabbit and wild squirrels running around its beautiful garden with flora.
Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine (parking fee included)
Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine is a Shinto shrine founded by the first shougun of Kamakura shogunate Minamoto no Yoritomo. This shrine has its rich samurai, Shinto and Buddhist sects’ cultures. The view from the top can see three locations of Torii (the shrine holy gates) stretches to as far as Yuigahama beach as the first Torii. Omamori (lucky charms) & Goshuin (honarable red stamp) are available to be bought.
Wakamiya Oji street & Komachi street, Shopping & Lunch (pay your own)
Enjoy Japanese snacks and street foods on the Komachi shopping street.
This street runs parallel to Wakamiya-Oji Street to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, and you can enjoy a wide range of shopping, eating and drinking, from traditional souvenir shops to fashion goods and restaurants. Succulent local popular dishes will be introduced and two restaurants will be recommended for you to choose from.
Kotoku-in (The Great Buddha of Kamakura) (entrance & parking fee included)
Meet the second largest bronze Buddha in Japan from Kamakura. A must-see on your sightseeing tour of Kamakura. Ever since she has been enshrined on the ground of Kamakura for over 750 years, natural disasters do not occur anymore. Foreign dignitaries visited this temple and planted trees here. Taking pictures with this massive statue with sublime features is a blessing & beauty.
Hasedera Temple (entrance & parking fee included)
Hasedera Temple, with its beautiful scenic views of the coastline, hidden
little cave and cute stone monks. Founded in 736 during the Nara period, and it is one of the oldest temples, designated as an imperial temple which houses the eleven-faced Kannon bodhisattva superbly carved from a massive camphor wood transferred by sea routes from Nara. This temple is named "Western Pure Land of Sukhavati”, where flowers never cease to bloom throughout the four seasons and the small statues of very cute stone monks to compliment the flora.
Shichirigahama Beach ( go on clear weather ONLY)
On a clear sky day , the magnificent sacred Mount Fuji can be seen along the scenic Kamakura Shonan Coast, sweeping across the Sagami Bay.
Its long stretch of sandy shore is a favorite spot for surfers, lovers, photographers and who seek to enjoy the rough waves, sea breeze & calm atmosphere escaping the bustling stressful scenes in Tokyo.
