I am an American male bi-lingual (English & Japanese)tour guide based/living in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. I have lived here several decades and I very familiar with the best places to see in Sapporo and outside of Sapporo/ other areas of Hokkaido. I can take you to the standard/well known sightseeing spots as well as "off the beaten path spots" that many overseas guests are unaware of. My tours are fun, on schedule, informative and transportation-wise very timely and smooth. Less time commuting and more time at location enjoying each point of interest. I have many years experience guiding tours in Sapporo and out to other areas of Hokkaido as well. Most of my tours are 1 day tours usually starting at 8 or 9a.m. and concluding at 6p.m. I basically use public transportation(buses, JR trains, and subways). I do own my own personal car and for guided tours with only 1 guest or small groups 2-3 guests, my private car is available for use. Meet up locations is usually at Sapporo Station in the morning but I can arrrange to meet you in the lobby of your hotel if requested. Cycling（summer only） and snow shoe Hiking in Asahikawa
Starting from Asahikawa station, you can visit Arashiyama(253m high) by bike and hike there. You can hike with a snow shoe In winter. Enjoy panoramic view of Asahikawa and learn a little bit of the Ainu people, native people of Hokkaido. After hiking, you can visit some artistic shops in Arashiyama. You can experience tea ceremony, glass artwork or pottery if you like. Note: Glass artwork and pottery are recommended for expats of Japan. You cannot take your work with you on the day you make it.

Cycling in Asashikawa
After renting a bike and buy some lunch, we are heading to Kamuikotan, Ainu's (indigenous people of Hokkaido) sacred place.You can see a suspension bridge, an old steam locomotive, an old train station and beautiful river view by walking. Note: Departure time is 9a.m. or 1p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays could be available despite of the closed days on my calendar. This tour is not available for the children under 12. The tour will be canceled due to the bad weather.

Starting from Asahikawa Station, you can visit Patch work RD, take some pictures of Seven-star tree, Ken & Mary tree. Next drive to Blue pond. Take a little walk and enjoy the magnificent view. “Private taxi Otaru”

“Great Guide for Hokkaido”
Had a great tour around Shirogane Blue Pond, Biei, and Asahikawa with Asad. He was very communicative both in planning my custom itinerary and leading up to the tour day. He was on time and the tour was conducted at a steady and relaxing pace. He is a good and safe driver as well. My favorite part of the tour was just talking casually with him. He is very knowledgeable about many things so it was fun to just chat about whatever came to mind. He also was happy to recommend me spots to see all over Japan for the rest of my trip, and he’s been almost everywhere in Hokkaido. If you need ideas of what to do for your vacation to Japan, you can rely on Asad for suggestions.

“Excellent tour with Mayu”
